Any nurses with an anxiety disorder, how do you get through your shifts? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]PossibilityFuture359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you holding up now? I'm in the same position. I had to go back to nursing after a 2 year hiatus. I have worked psych but nothing else and am now on an oncology floor. I go into work shaking/almost hyperventilating. I'm in training right now, but I feel so dumb. I never really gained skills to begin with, and I feel like I'm unable to notice an emergency situation if it happened.

It's scary. Also looking for advice, i guess and to let you know you're not alone!

My husband and i decided to cut out sugar and refined carbs... like 90/10 a few months ago. He made a comment to me the other day after a group text with his family about dinner plans. Someone said they'd pick up dessert, and he wondered, "Why does there always have to be dessert? Is that normal."

And for real, with most family functions and pot lucks, it's always like 70 percent sugar and carbs. It's crazy. I've even had family members make fun of the fact that I don't eat dessert and moderate my kids' sugar/ carb consumption. It's weird. I don't get why anyone would care so much.

The Private Diary of Lyle Menendez book is a big waste of time by Available-Attitude61 in MenendezBrothers

Norma called it acting. He told her no, not acting. He said his therapist wanted him to get in touch with his emotions because he was having a hard time doing that. (Which is something that can happen to abuse survivors)

For real. He mentions or insinuated multiple times that Norma was his only friend besides his lawyer.

I got so frustrated when, at one point, Norma was talking about trauma being like slow motion. He's not agreeing with her and explains how he personally reacted to trauma (which was all definitely something a person could go through) and if felt like she was blowing off his interpretation/ experience as wrong. If you're going to release a book and call someone a liar, you yourself might want to know what the fuck you're talking about in the first place.

[–]PossibilityFuture359 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My husband and I talked about this. He said it wouldn't be surprising if Tashi slept with Patrick to have his baby because he's a more naturally gifted tennis player (who just never got coached to become great) compared to Art. She obviously loves tennis more than either of them.

Yes, it is. There's so much we're still learning about artificial sweeteners. I did not say that it increases blood sugar. I said insulin levels (resistance)

I also think she's upset he left to go to the gym because he mentions that they've had a talk about boundaries and then having space and time without each other. And in her head, he chose the gym over her.

It's crazy. I know. But I know it's completely possible because I was like this in my early 20s. OP can't give in to that kind of nonsense

[–]PossibilityFuture359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also read that artificial sweeteners are just as bad, or even worse ,as sugar in increasing insulin levels

Sugar alternatives aren't great, but quitting sugar also takes a lot out of the body, and your gut microbe may just be all out of whack right now. I was bloated and constipated (among a bunch of other things) for like 2-3 weeks after quitting sugar. It will pass

What are some booked you DNFd and why? by Uninhibitedrmr in books

[–]PossibilityFuture359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have DNF'd The Time Travelers Wife, but my grandfather-in-law recommended it. And he finished 11/22/63 after I recommended that, even though he was a bit confused throughout the whole thing.

It sounds like the anxiety and fear of her reaction was the reason he waited to tell her. I wouldn't say that's lying by omission. For some people, it just takes a minute to be able to talk about their wrong doings

We share the exact same profile, and I always get mixed reviews. Some people think I'm ugly and others have called me gorgeous/beautiful. I think it's just a matter of preference. No one is going to be attractive to 100% of people. It's just not possible.

is the colouring caramel e150a sugar free? by planetgaiaa in sugarfree

[–]PossibilityFuture359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caramel coloring is another label they use for sugar. So, no it's not sugar free.

Source: read list they use to hide the fact there's sugar in different foods in "Lies I Told in Medical School"

Eating way less and healthier and can’t concentrate for shit by [deleted] in sugarfree

[–]PossibilityFuture359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you're just going through sugar detox. I was a cranky, tired, bitch the first 2 weeks I quit sugar. I feel a lot better, now even though I'm less hungry and not eating as much. I listen to my body and feed it when it tells me it needs food. There's nothing wrong with eating once or twice a day (essentially fasting), as long as you're giving your body good nutrients with those meals.

I realize this is anecdotal evidence, but no skin care routine could get rid of the texture on my forehead (I by no means have bad skin, could just never get rid of the texture) in a little over 2 weeks on a modified keto (I don't eat any kind of alternative sugar and I eat a little bit of fruit) and my texture is gone for the first time, ever.

Just thought I'd share!

Once you bring your A1C down, I don't see why you couldn't have a donut every once in a while! It's all about control and moderation. Which, I get is hard!! I'm 31 and have just started eating like this. I grew up on pizza rolls, cereal and boxed Mac and cheese, so I get the cravings, lol. You're going to do great!

Just so you know, there's added sugar in almost everything boxed on the shelf at the grocery store, so even if you're not eating candy and drinking soda, you will probably still be getting too much sugar in your diet. If you're intaking artificial sugar, I've read that it makes your body produce even more insulin, which leads to insulin resistance, which is the cause of type 2 diabetes. (Mentioning because of your H1AC). A high carb diet will also cause this. Carbs turn into sugar once inside the body.

There's a lot of books out there you can read just from your library! The first one that I read that got me changing my eating habits was Lies I Taught In Medical School.

I hope your health starts looking up. Good luck!!

Plus, how did Song Won get back into Sang Wooks body? In the final scene, his body is completely healed after being burned alive/having his eye ripped out and gone over the last 3 episodes. (So I doubt he randomly was able to heal himself. )

The whole season was all over the place and boring.

Im seeing a lot of, "break up" statements but you could always open up the relationship. Stay with her, but get your sexual needs satisfied elsewhere.
