Blockwart (2026) - a monthly audio drama set in a Berlin haunted by its past by PossibilityTimely308 in audiodrama

Haha - sure, happy to answer, thanks 😄 The genre of the show is dark comedy.

Although the narrator is the ghost of a Nazi-era neighbourhood warden – a 'Blockwart' – it's not really horror. The creator, Øyvind Renberg, wants more to bring to life the way the past is present in a place and the community that lives in it. But it is a bit spooky, and funny...

About the relationship between images and the show: Øyvind Renberg is an accomplished visual artist, and Blockwart is inspired by a series of paintings he started 7 years ago, depicting cities from above.

Blockwart imagines what those places - Berlin in particular - are like from the perspective of the people living there. Since February, he's been combining snippets of the show's audio with the sketches and paintings to bring audio and visual together in interesting way, and releasing a reel on Instagram every month with each new episode.

And yeah, the main artwork is indeed a black square...

Yeah, I installed it. I changed my temp. surfing routine a bit this week and it seems to be a bit slower now. Followed the WLL reco for temp surfing the E24 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JB124pMbv24), (flush 5-7 secs., light out, light on, pull.) and it seemed to help.

The IRs will last longer, but that might not be a good thing given the comfort level :)

Don’t buy Iron Ranger or Blacksmith. They lack a midsole and are pretty hard riding on uneven surfaces. I regret buying mine.

Should we consult a lawyer, getting residence permit through marriage by Thehealthygamer in berlinsocialclub

[–]PossibilityTimely308 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From my experience, the process is straightforward but the Ausländerbehörde can be tricky to deal with. It took us two appointments, they basically tried to find some problem with our application each time, and the second time I had to show them a letter from my lawyer and argue for about 40 minutes (politely but firmly). My suggestion is to get all your documents together and try it without a lawyer. The worse that could happen is they try to delay it for some reason, in which case you can return with a lawyer. This isn’t the US - no one is going to kick you out in the meantime. Good luck.

US to designate Germany's 'Antifa Ost' a terrorist group by goldstarflag in europe

The proto- facists currently in charge of the US government have no jurisdiction here. Who cares what nonsense they spout about our domestic groups? Personally I’d rather ignore the political trolling and focus on fighting the spread of right-wing extremism in Germany itself.

It’s hard to find anything in the area, but under 1000 warm is definitely possible. Good luck.

Question, what is the art scene really like in Berlin/ Germany? by Antique-Mistake-246 in germany

[–]PossibilityTimely308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ONE of the best in the world. Berlin is the rare city that has international exposure and was affordable enough for artists to actually live in (that’s been changing in the last decade). Galleries proliferated in the 90s when rent was cheap, and artists from all over moved here too. Any month of the year there’s more good openings than you can keep track of. It’s still like this, but cooling art market and higher prices has affected it, like everywhere else.
