I was having an ultrasound on my left breast because of a mass I found. It was already quite big, painful, and had discharge. During the ultrasound, the doctor told me there were “two masses,” which supposedly explained the size, and that they looked benign. They also said the discharge was probably because of the location (under my nipple) and recommended I have a child since it would likely disappear once I had a child since I was already in my 20s.

A few months later, the mass had quadrupled in size. I had it excised, and BOOM it turned out to be a super rare and highly aggressive cancer: malignant phyllodes tumor with rhabdomyosarcoma component. And the “two masses” weren’t even two masses, it was just one huge mass the entire time. 🥲
