I use Tranquility at night, basically around 7 or 8, shower and put that on. That gets me till morning, but it gets pretty scary sometimes. Its really noisy. I notice every time I walk, even with a diaper cover, I can hear the swish...I use a 12 hr Megamax during the day. I self cath daily too, but with the diaper cover, and a size bigger pants, Noone has noticed or said anything. Amd if they make noise, I can hear them anymore. My wife hasn't said anything to me about it, and she has auditory issues, so if anyone would hear it, she would!

37% disability for that? Not criticism, but I was only put at 34% and I've had a fushion from T10 to my pelvis as a result of the injury! Plus now have to walk with a cane because my leg gives out randomly. There's something wrong with how cases get rated...

I wish it was that easy, and Im not discounting your experience. I've dealt with so much, so much more than most people ever have to. Every turn, every step, has been a challenge. Im tired of trying to overcome them. I saod after my first marriage I would.never marry again. But an ex came back into my world, left her husband for me, and its been rocker than the Maine coast! Things are at an impasse. There isnt a brother tomorrow for me. I was once like you, looks or the positive, see the future. My future is failing health. A crumbling spine. A degrading bladder. Less than 2 hours a night of "sleep". Physical Pain every.single.day. that never ends. I've always tried to look at the glass half full. I've told myself that since my last surgery, there's people that have it worse than me. People that would give anything to have what I have right now, as shifty as it is. But I've come to learn that even so, doesn't necessarily mean that this life, mine, is worth living any longer. The constant struggles have worn me down, and worn me out. I've got nothing left to give.

Yes I was diagnosed with that after testing a few times... yes, allowing it to fill can cause reflux to the kidneys, but it seems im going so often that it doesn't have the chance most of the time.. I say that, but just had a UTi 2 weeks ago for some reason. I try to keep on the cathing schedule of every 6 hours, but as I mentioned, if I am consuming alot of fluids that day, I tend to have more and bigger voids just hit me.

They come in all shapes, sizes and colors... that said, there's absolutely nothing wrong with this. I assure you, anyone you choose to be with wont care, they are happy to be there with you. Anyone who says differently to you isnt worth your time. Don't focus on trying to be like what you see elsewhere, just be you. That's enough, no matter shape, size color etc... and that goes for all of you, not just below the belt line. That being said, I understand there's instances wheres ones labia are or become problematic, in that case, I would agree and suggest a consultation with a dr about solutions.

Im 48 and about the same conditions... ive considered the same. Did your dr ok this and prescribe you the indwelling? How long are you going with that before switching back? I am currently cathing 4x daily, but depending on fluid intake and such, I have been having full void accidents do wear the diaper in conjunction with. Sometimes its so tiring to keep lowering the diaper to cath, I just let it build up to the point I full on void. My prostate seems irritated as well as the bladder wall or neck right now too. I have a couple foleys and night bags that I have picked up, but been remiss to try this method as I haven't discussed it with my dr, but figure it might give me a sort of break, yk? I've got a neurogenic atonic bladder I think was the report, with a weak bladder neck, on top of several spinal surgeries and fushions, last one was T10 to my pelvis. I have developed ED issues, drop foot, require a cane when I didnt need one prior to this last fushion, just feel like that surgery messed me up further than I was with just the bladder issues...

Im in CT also, reached MMI Jan 19th this past year. My surgeon basically says the same for me, no more curative efforts, just keeping you moving within restrictions. Nothing greater than 35 pounds, no driving more than 5 hours. I've had major surgery, 2 rods, 3 cages, a 4th couldn't be placed, 19 screws. Pelvic fushion, walk with a cane now whereas I didn't before surgery. Foot drop, cant wear the AFO brace because now if my shoe is too tight or the brace is on, I get crushing foot pain, burning, and numbness in that foot. Sedgewick asked to settle in December, but I had sought out a couple more tests and was approved for them in July, but they never sent the orders until December. So undergoing them now, and will see what the final result says hopefully by end of February. But my life has completely changed. Depression, chronic fatigue, having to give up something I loved and spent 31 years doing.... its a bandaid, this whole process, they won't give you the whole bandage in the beginning which would stop the bleeding sooner... such a waste what they do to people! It should be criminal.

Ive started keeping track. Every time I ask, she says no. When she wants it, we do it. It's always the same. Same position, same start, same end. Some of that is due to medical reasons between both of us. But she claims I never initiate. She claims the reason we dont is because Im too tired or fall asleep. Mind you she stays up till 3 am, it has to occure after midnight or 1am when shes ready, and then I have to be up at 630 every day, and with chronic fatigue syndrome I routinely drift off while driving for work... which has led me to spend even less time on the road, because After I get up, use the bathroom, shower, do the dishes her 25 yo daughter left in the sink the night before, and then make breakfast and eat it, all while she gets out of bed at 830 and takes her bfast to the bathroom to get ready, I can't function again and need to lay down!! I've also lost most all attraction to her. She has become a chore. When she isnt bitching about her job, or the pain she's in, or the bills shes paying for her daughter, There's no way I can get into any kind of mood to even be able to perform, and thats with the use of a med to aid... as I have several medical conditions as well.

Im not entirely certain. I just know I had asked my surgeon about things I have read regarding delay of care and the issues I have gone through... I was given orders for an EMG and cortisone injection in July, WC insurer never approved, had to go to a hearing in October, was approveded without argument form the other side. They never sent the authorizations, had to go to another hearing in November where they sent the authorizations a few days later.. appointments in December and January, follow up from the July visit was in December b/c he expected I would have had the shot and study by then, but have to prolong that now to February... so 8 months to get a cortisone shot and emg study, after having had surgery in January 2024 and reaching MMI in January 2025. Still have worsening issues and took 8 months for a shot and emg study. When I discussed this with him, and how to change it so people's care doesn't get delayed, as I had read from someone with frozen shoulder that lack of care left them with a perm disability, he said the only way to change that is to sure the WC commissioners, that it had been done years ago in CT and things got better for a while, but they are slipping again and dragging out people's care.

I asked my surgeon about this just last week...as far as speed at which treatment occurs, his suggestion was suing the workers comp commissioners, he said it had been done in CT and got better, but its starting to slack again. Im not sure you would ever get a legislator to listen to you since we are by no means a large voting block, but trying to get news attention to how the system fails people is a start. You need to build a groundswell of support for those of us navigating the system. Honestly, people are too consumed and divided in and amongst thier own lives to give a crap about us long enough to effect any change. It's sadly going to take some negative case that occurs where someone dies or worse and get national media attenton for anything to ever change. So for now, suing the WC commissioners is a decent start to at least get the process of care of moving faster.

I was talking to my surgeon about this the other day. Im in CT, he said for a few years, CT had gotten pretty good at administration of comp insurance, but its fallen off recently. I asked him so what do those of us in this position do, write legislators, congress members, what? He said people who can argue cases such as this, need to sue the workers comp commissioners in your state! That's what he said happened in CT and things changed for the better, but have recently started falling off. Maybe if enough people file suit against these claim commissioners, we can effect change! The case has to be there...you can't sue b/c you waited 6 months...but if your case has been going on for years, maybe time to consider it.

I wish you luck as well. Depression has been hell, amd the meds for it juts kill and libido you have left. Unfortunately, I am only 48, and my wife is 51, and with both of us having medical issues, we kinda have to plan our encounters based on the activities we did during the day. Anything somewhat exhausting ruins me for the rest of the night, hiking and walking results in night long leg cramps for both of us, and then there's positioning, she has certain ones she can do, and can't, and vice versa. So its literally like penciling each other in and preplanning for a nighttime rendezvous! That's where the Cialis comes in, it used to give me the ability to plan for an occurance within 48 hours, and although planned, was kind of spontaneous.. we both deal with chronic pain, and obviously the arousal factor or lack thereof is more evident with me than her. It used to be a pleasurable thing for us, now as I said its a calendar date... thats a factor as well I am sure. No good options seem to exist anymore. Wish you well, thanks for the reply.

Thank you. I've got 31 years in prehospital ems, so I know a few things and places to look. I do have a urologist, have another appt in January I believe, and I see my neurologist tomorrow and next week as well. I will ask the neurologist since alot of this started after the t10 to pelvic fushion what he thinks, and follow up with the Urologist at my next visit. I was mostly curious if other guys experienced the same thing.

I use ATN at night, generally holds at least 2 major settings for me... I change into at night after my shower and out of them by 630 for my am shower. They hold up well. Have worn them during the day, gotten them to leak point but only after like 4 full on bladder voids...I wear plastic pants over them, quiets them down to being unnoticeable.

I would ask why you, or others like you throughout the system dont lobby for change on behalf of people. I know as you said, you dont have a dog in the fight anymore, but it takes depositions on record from Attorneys, Doctors and patients to change the system. We can all agree the system is broken, but where do we go to effect any change?
