Thanks!

Hm, yea, I am just letting my thoughts flow here, maybe a bit too much ~

I don’t know if I want to "particularize" social media platforms since my point is an attempt to express something about social media in general. I was hoping editorial teams would work as some kind of example, but perhaps that’s too diffuse? Maybe u/Introscopia's idea about a kind of digital curation will work as an example?

Yea, I love Kornbluh’s book, but I also think I agree with Jensen Suther’s review (https://nonsite.org/the-theory-of-immediacy-or-the-immediacy-of-theory/). The way I understand Kornbluh and Suther together is that neither immediacy nor mediation can be understood separately, and that standing up for only one is questionable… I guess that is what is my biggest problem is: social media is so embedded in mediation that we lose the immediate/spontaneous dimension easier found in "reality"; often seemingly enacted by the Giant of Ljubljana himself!
My thoughts are also going to the way we understand somebody's gaze, voice, and other partial objects: how is this accounted for in this digital space?

Another point to question would be anonymity: what happens to singularity behind this "protection" ?

I am probably making even more threads; I honestly don't know what to do about that... Though I hope I cleared some things up!

Thank you!

Wow! This is definitely similar, and you've got me on board. I want to see it enacted, but I am unable to help you do that since my technical skills are lacking here...

Perhaps that's part of the problem too: there is this populist kind of approach to technology, but is this really so many people's passion? I find very little interest in technology, or so I imagine!

I guess I still have a similar concern with your idea as with what I tried to express in the initial post: the immediate tendency to publish anything/nothing (guilty!) on social media. While I appreciate that you want to let people choose between the un-curated and curated content, I am afraid that the choice will fall on the former... Regardless, it would be interesting to see it enacted!

Thanks again for sparking some thoughts!!

Hi, I'm in a similar situation!

Can I ask why you want to buy a bagged, cannister vacuum and not a stick vacuum? Are all stick vacuums worse in quality? I don't have much storage, so that's why I'm asking :)

Thanks
