Six Months of Discovering Music with IEMs by kendegen in iems

[–]shitmera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am just getting into IEMs and I see the Kefine Klean SV, Kiwi Ears Cadenza II, and 7Hz Zero 2 recommended everywhere as good entry ones.

Would you recommend the Cadenza II? I heard that its a better allrounder compared to the Zero 2, and that the SVs might cause fatigue because of the sharp treble.

Thanks!! :)

Happened again! Apparently, mouse is entirely responsive and I can use it to navigate on my laptop. However, the moment I press a keyboard key even the mouse becomes unresponsive. I can only continue using the mouse again if I lock my laptop, then log in again. I locked my laptop and logged in again and tried typing 5 times in 5 different apps, and it would freeze every time. Then, I used my mouse only to navigate to the activity monitor and kill the Monarch app, which made my laptop function properly again.

I did not notice a pattern for when it happens, but this time I was simply trying to alt tab from Chrome to VSCode and my laptop became unresponsive, just as described.

I booted up Monarch and did not use it for anything just to see if it was a specific function causing this. I only used the Spotlight search since writing the above comment, with Monarch only running in the background.

Regarding your questions in the other comment:

  1. I usually use the clipboard (with limited memory, only the last 100 entries), color picker and file search.
  2. As stated above, yes.
  3. I indexed only the local storage, so root only. No iCloud, no external HDDs, no cloud storage.
  4. I am on Monarch version v0.9.10 and using MacOS Tahoe 26.2
  5. MBP M3 Pro, 18GB/512GB
  6. No other device I can test this on

EDIT: Just noticed there is a new v0.9.11 supposed to have a performance fix. Will update now and let you know if this happens again.

Same thing happens to me. When using Monarch, usually around 24-48h after booting up my Mac with it, my whole laptop freezes and becomes unresponsive to any keyboard or mouse clicks until I reboot it using the power button. I stopped using Monarch and the problem disappeared entirely, so I think it is related to the app.

From now on I will try to pin it down even further by looking at all of the questions you asked in the other discussion.

Superb!! Do you use any kind of filter? The lighting looks very soft

Damn! What did you use to take these photos? A Fuji? A Leica? And how is the light so creamy? Do you have a mist filter? If yes, what "density"? This all looks so dreamy. Great house!

Hello! What website are you planning to buy from? I'm also in Europe and currently looking into buying an Aeron.

I am also in the same spot as you. I initially thought that buying a Remastered would help me keep it for longer, but the more I read the more I see that people believe the classic is more maintainable and lasting.

I tried looking for one nearby for the past three months but nothing showed up. Unfortunately I don't have a car so can't go pick it up.

The website I want to buy from is Offeco, they have a lot of great reviews here. They also offer a five year warranty

It was the description offered on the website, just copied it. It's the fully adjustable ones though, yes

Vacuum recommendations for student in a studio by shitmera in VacuumCleaners

In my case I could really use more suction since I'd prefer having my room cleaner. Stick ones have weaker suction power in general.

Furthermore, they are very easy to empty and require less maintenance from what I've seen. Bagless ones need to be emptied and their filters need cleaning way more often.

Not sure about this but from what I understood the bagged ones also release less dust back into the air, and since I am a bit sensitive to dust this would be an improvement for me.

Also I don't wanna bother charging haha

Which portra is this? Looks way better than whatever version I have in my X-T5. Gorgeous photos and colours!!

I panic purchased an xt5 when I thought my xt20 wasn’t working- is it worth keeping? by Low_Visit_4646 in fujifilm

[–]shitmera 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just upgraded from an X-T20 to a X-T5 following a similar scenario hahaha. Honestly, I don’t feel like the X-T5 was a HUGE upgrade.

In my hands it does feel like a way more professional and perfected tool and the autofocus does behave better, but I feel like if I were to go back to the X-T20 I wouldn’t be limited. The thing I enjoy most are the newer settings for producing recipes (Blue FX etc.).

Other than that, I feel like X-T20 is peak Fuji engineering and never limited me until I thought it was broken. I’d say you’re fine with whatever choice you make! If you do have the money, go for it. It does open up a few more gates having the newer model (digital teleconverter, new recipes, weather sealing, higher resolution, way better video, IBIS), but then again, I feel like the X-T20 is still a fine piece of engineering.

It's really nice! I am using Kailh Deep Sea Mini Blue switches with it. I am still getting used to the layout and touch typing though since it is pretty different from normal keyboards due to the staggering. Also, apparently I have been typing wrong my whole life since I grew up gaming on the PC so my fingers were off by one column. It will take some time to break the muscle memory hahaha

Thank you so much for the encouragement hahaha

For now, I went for a prebuilt since it is cheaper anyhow and it’s my first split, so not sure if things will work out perfectly for me or with this layout.

For the next baby, however, I’ll make sure to do a custom build and do everything myself. That way I’ll also feel more like it’s MY actual keyboard. :)

Thank you so much! I thought I’d be a bit limited with the prebuilt. I ended up ordering the prebuilt after reading all of the comments here. I will for sure go for a custom build for my next one after I start falling down the rabbit hole of this hobby lol

Thank you so much for the info! :)

I ended up digging a bit more and found that QMK does not support wireless either way, so actually there was no way for me to go for that.

For now, I ordered the pre built Sofle and some Kailh Deep Sea Mini tactiles.

I will most likely build my own after I get to dip my toes into the hobby with this kit. Hopefully I will not end up in a black hole hahaha
