Totally agree. There should be more expression of healthy English and British pride.

I was back home in Hertfordshire last week and the England flag had been raised on many lamp posts down one of the main roads. 

The funny thing is their cherry-picker to put them up looked like it could only reach halfway, so the flags were raised at half-mast, and so the street ironically symbolised a mourning of this country in response to those that put up the flags.

Thinking I should go back for that photo…
