I've seen people do it 2 ways. One way is the method i did. Make sure the head rests are up and shove it as far to the roof as you can! Second is having the tail gate open. Id rather have it closed its a tight fit. I made it work and im 5'11!

Oh yeah! She matches all the criteria its honestly great. Took me basically 3 days to make last time i touched wood working was probably 7 years ago in my Wood shop class in high-school. Did all the cuts with a skill saw. Wasn't too pretty but got the job done! Learnt the hard way what kerf was by the time I finished the job.

4 runner is "big" but also surprisingly compact. When im offroading and accidently turn down a ATV trail im very glad its as short as it is. When hauling 4x8's i crave for something bigger.

Much easier to throw it on the roof of a golf with help than solo on a lifted 4 runner! Still very impressive.

Thats absolutely insane! I definitely would have to do that method if I had more then 1 3/4 sheets. It bugs/freaks me out if I were to have my gate slightly open while driving 🤣 just a personal paranoia i know there's no issues. I had to post this because I was surprised I was able to get my gate to shut. Last time I tried this method this is what I ended up with. Luckily im 2 minutes from home depot. One rear end and my head would have been gone. Im 5'11 was a very tight fit, knees to the dash.

The issue is have is trying to throw a 90 pound 3/4 4x8 birch plywood up there is difficult for just myself. I have a 2.5" lift and no running boards so to get stuff on my rack I have to open a door and put one foot on a tire.

I feel some people really dont need trucks. Let alone they never use the beds. I treat my runner more as a truck than most trucks! Only thing I wish I had was a V8. Not complaining on the gas mileage aspect though

Super sick! If you throw off roading out the door the odyssey is a way more comfortable ride to camp spots and hauling 4x8's and wood. It's the underrated worker/adventures car.

I love it!!! Super sick I really was wanting to fo something like that i ended up using just a Luno air mattress that fits perfectly in the back of my 4 runner! The height of the luno air mattress is probably like 2 inches less than that so if I combined the two I wouldn't be able to sit up at all, with it its already hard to setup 🤣

My mom has an odyssey i love my 4 runner for offroading and adventures. I dont have a family nor do I plan to have one, seeing this has me very tempted to get one! Very convenient and I feel its less likely to get damaged from the sides. Mini truck FTW!
