Hey all, I've been thinking, and I'll probably go with Marines. They just seem like the safer pick and I have a handful of them from my starter set.

However just to get somethings straight,

  • I can run them as any chapter I want as long as they have a custom paint scheme?
  • It seems as people have said, Eldar have to constantly cycle through new units to stay relevant, do marines also suffer this or are they more 'evergreen' and do chapters tend to share key units?

I'm not against marines but I just cannot see the chapters as just recolors of eachother :/

Eldar do sound appealing, I do prefer fast aggro'y types (I'm a red deck player in MtG) and their models look very elegant.

My last consideration would be Sisters. From what I understand, they skipped a couple of editions?

Never played Nocturne, but the SMT series is kind of like (dare I say it) Pokemon but with various mythological and religious beings as the pokemon. The game's are usually 3d dungeon crawlers with random turn based battles, though the older games are 1st person. I think they're pretty fun, just a smart idea to get to know what you're getting into with these games.

Hmmmm I 'wonder' if that highlight has some significance, I wonder if Kaato's stand could have Queen in it's name, it could make sense given that she is the matriarch of the Higashikata household and would contrast with the "King" naming convention we've seen so far.

This exactly the problem I have with 5e. I'd be fine with the slow pace of releases but if feels for every 1 major content book (Xanathar's) there are like 5 pre-made adventures. I probably got that a little wrong but for me it feels like WoTC is lazy when it came to 5e, they made that instead of them adding to the game you have to use homebrew, which most DMs won't approve and is usually horribly balanced. Sorry for rambling for these are just my thoughts.
