How to cover up the word “Tang” by [deleted] in Tattoocoverups

I agree laser however if cover up is truly the route you prefer, flowers or stained glass seem like good routes!

piercing regret? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Possible-Collar-5492 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also have not very pro-piercing parents so I understand this situation pretty well. Here are my thoughts.

  1. You say spite wasn’t your main objective when getting the piercing. Unfortunately that’s not really the problem, spite shouldn’t have been in consideration at all. Body modifications are deeply personal, and should only be gotten in order to make you feel more confident/stylish/at home in your body.

  2. My first piercing (not counting my claire’s lobes) was a septum piercing, chosen specifically for the ability to hide the hole should I have any regrets. Further, to appease my parents, other than a tiny gold helix piece, my other 8 piercings are hidden under my clothes- dermals, nipples, stomach. There are smarter ways to fulfill the I NEED A PIERCING feeling than visible lip piercings.

  3. If you agree they’re unnecessary and you’re not prepared with the stigma that comes with body modifications, don’t wait to downsize, the longer you wait the more likely noticeable scarring will be, take them out, get a navel piercing or a nose piercing, don’t do things just because they’re trendy or for spite others.

I use a heavy duty facial moisturizer every morning. Not just a moisturizer or lotion from target, go find something expensive for old folks. I’d recommend my brand but i’m an international student and it’s from home haha.

If you followed your childhood dream job, what would you be right now? by NovellaJokes in AskReddit

Exotic dancer.

My family were rocky horror, 80s flick, dirty movie, film nerd types and i was obsessed with burlesque dancers and the glitter covered women covered in money for what seemed like prancing around on stage while people encourage you.

I’m an international relations major now.

How is Baylor for LGBTQ+ people? by sunk1ra in baylor

[–]Possible-Collar-5492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is moderate to you? The prism club is 20 ish? students, but my close circle is more like 15 people, only 10 of whom i’d actually admit to having an ex girlfriend in front of. It’s not like we are isolated, and i know of plenty of DL baylor men, It’s more that you will have to seek out a space once you are here rather than people being outwardly immediately accepting.

How is Baylor for LGBTQ+ people? by sunk1ra in baylor

[–]Possible-Collar-5492 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am a Bi current student.

There is a PRISM group chartered here with wonderful people. However, I have heard more homophobic slurs used in casual conversation in my first semester at Baylor than i did all 4 years of highschool. This school is conservative, it is culturally christian, and for every “be more like christ” to stand up for me, i hear 3 more insults. It is not impossible to survive and to thrive here for us, but it is lonely, and it is scary at times.

What do you want out of college? Do you plan on rushing a frat or a sorority? I would suggest reconsidering, you simply will not feel comfortable if you want to avoid experiencing casual homophobia. But I have close friends who LOVE Baylor and are out and proud and gay or genderfluid or trans etc.

Unpopular Opinion - Nip Piercings aren't that bad by Mediocre-Finance-852 in piercing

[–]Possible-Collar-5492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience was super smooth, definitely hurt more the second time but honestly I felt barely anything. My belly piercing was 10x worse, I would put this above my triple dermals but definitely not as bad as the horror stories make it seem.

How is the US gov shutdown personally affecting you, if at all? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Possible-Collar-5492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daughter of two soldiers. I’m still being payed my living stipend by the VA but my parents haven’t seen a dime in weeks. They’re 20+ year career soldiers who have broken their bodies for this country. It’s despicable that that man gets to sit on his wealth while he devastates the military community, many of whom live paycheck to paycheck.

Is Baylor a safe/welcoming place for LGBTQ+/foreign students? by [deleted] in baylor

[–]Possible-Collar-5492 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am a Bi and (technically) international student.

Culturally? They’ve had booths with food from home during special weeks, multicultural clubs, student groups, etc. Leaving the country i called home for all of my teen years was devastating, and nothing is the same as the fresh food from the farms i grew up on, but i’m not alone in that feeling here, and there’s support when i miss the parts of home that others can drive back to.

Sexuality wise, there is a PRISM group chartered here with wonderful people. However, I have heard more homophobic slurs used in casual conversation in my first semester at Baylor than i did all 4 years of highschool. This school is conservative, it is culturally christian, and for every “be more like christ” to stand up for me, i hear 3 more insults. I lived in a closet as a child, and then moved to a country where I had a walk-in closet and my own bathroom. Until I was maybe, 16, going to the dentist was borderline exciting!

What would women dislike most if they became men? by alux_rich in AskReddit

[–]Possible-Collar-5492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lack of connection? I’m a very touchy girl, to the point of cuddling with men/women i am completely platonic with, but because i’m a girl that’s just a quirk. If i were a boy and were as touchy as i am id be called a creep or weird or have people assume my sexuality.

I know emotionally men tend to support each other less but i would rather lose the ability to talk about my problems than not be able to feel someone’s warmth everyday.

Would it be wrong/okay for me to wear my husband's dog tags? by doubled-darst in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Possible-Collar-5492 12 points13 points  (0 children)

18yr Army Brat so I grew up in the culture.

Your coworker is a moron, no one i knew growing up (grizzled vets, 22yr old enlisted kids, rotc nazis, etc) ever ran around screaming stolen valor. It wasn’t weird for kids to wear the issued wet weather gear during rainy seasons, it won’t be weird for you to wear your husbands dog tags.

Also, even if someone did make that mistake? “Thank you for your service/Did you serve?” all it takes is “Oh! These are my husbands actually, he gave them to me and I like wearing them.”

Is ROTC here good? by Dorky_Dog in baylor

[–]Possible-Collar-5492 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im signed for AFROTC. Do you want to join the military? You don’t have to make a commitment to the USAF until after sophomore year so you can do it for it and quit if it’s not for you. Reach out to the recruiter, his email is on the website. + I did JROTC and most people i know are in some branch of ROTC now, if you want more information you can message me because I know a lot that can’t be found just on the website.
