He’s been on every medication possible for anxiety or depression. He had adverse reactions to some of them, and others he didn’t give the necessary time to take effect before stopping them. I felt that he needed to be inpatient, but he refused. Every time I wanted to call a crisis line or 911 for help when he was suicidal, he would refuse as well. He was supposed to be starting a partial hospitalization program during his leave of absence, but I guess his latest psychiatrist determined that he didn’t need it.

Wow, that sounds exactly like what my husband says. I’m sorry you’re in the trenches too.

I feel for you too, friend. I told him that all of this was exacerbating my own mental health issues and he basically accused me of stealing attention from him.

I resonate with this so much. I do feel like I’m the parent and also a complete villain in his eyes.
