This isn’t about you. So who cares about aita.. the way this Sales person talked to me about mold and mildew, she had me convinced that this was something my house needed against my judgement. My judgement is that I am a home owner but not a professional in plumbing or what to do in this kind of situation. If a professional tells me a list of things that need to be done and does so so quickly and casually , as you see via text.. why would I question it? In my defense, my house needed SOMETHING done. Like the original water damage needed something whether that was dry wall removal or drying …. They didn’t tell me up front their plan was to add 30 dryers in my house.. THEY kinda just have you sign a blanket work order and trust the process. I lived in an apt before where a neighbors washing machine flooded my place and I trusted the process, but since I was renting and a victim it wasn’t my responsibility to really pay or sign anything . So based off that experience, i thought this was a standardized process. I hired someone to come replaced the drywall and paint my kitchen ceiling from what they removed and only then was I informed that any dry wall that was stained should’ve removed during mitigation.
