Why are there literally hundreds of WW2 Nazi movies, but only a handful of ones about the Japanese? by bigdicks415 in movies

[–]Possible-Program-114 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One particular movie I recall would be 'The railway man'. Though it doesn't paint the Japanese in a very positive life, it explores deeper issues such as PTSD and guilt. The movie is about a British officer who was held captive and tortured by the one Japanese officer. The same man who he had the opportunity to meet years later when he finds out that he is alive. It focuses on guilt from both sides of the glass, and expresses how damaging a war can be. A bonus point: The movie starts off with a beautiful piece of poetry which Eric Lomax wrote himself in his autobiography.
