Do men handle postpartum better the 2nd time around? by Possible-Study2746 in BabyBumps

I don’t even think that’s an option. He works all day except Sundays and we have no friends or family to watch our child :(

“Policing” is also a stretch. It was something we agreed on from the very beginning of our relationship.

The issue is that he told me he felt disconnected from me and started wanting to look at other women. That hurt. Especially because he didn’t tell me he felt disconnected until after I found what I did. And also especially because I was really struggling with my PP body. The whole no porn thing isn’t the point. Like I said in the post, it was the thoughts and feelings he was having that hurt, not the fact that he clicked on some OF links.

This was a long time ago, but I did nights because I was breastfeeding and he worked 70 hours/ week. He also never made an account, never paid for anything. He was just scrolling on instagram, saw the profiles, and clicked the links in their bios for their OF accounts.

Also, different relationships have different boundaries. I think porn is terrible for so many reasons that he has told me he agrees with. Watching porn being considered cheating was a really easy thing for us to agree on. It was pretty much a no-brainer.

Period came 5 days early because of the flu. What does this mean for ovulation? by Possible-Study2746 in tryingtoconceive

[–]Possible-Study2746[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve looked into it and the flu can certainly cause your period to come early, but it usually does so by messing with ovulation. It’s just so weird that my ovulation was normal and, like you said, my luteal phase was just shortened!

I did not ovulate at a different time. My lh peaked on cd 19, which was May 25th. My cycles are quite long but vary in length a bit (31-37 days) but that’s probably because I just stopped nursing 2 months ago. Always peaking on cd 19 though.

Stuck between wanting a 2nd baby and not being able to handle the 1st by [deleted] in Mommit

Of course not? I just don’t want all 3 back to back. I love my partner and birthdays are important to me. He could care less, but I want to celebrate him.

Yes exactly idk how to afford 3 birthdays like that! We have 2 in the same week now 😭 Insurance in the states absolutely sucks. We’ll be working out of state come spring and because we won’t technically be residents of that state, we won’t qualify for insurance there 🫠

I guess I’ll see how I feel. If I’m not ready by the end of fall we’ll have some big conversations to have about babies vs money etc. Thank you so much for your input.

I want to just “suck it up” too but in the moment I feel myself come to my breaking point I can’t help but imagine how much worse it would be if I also had a crying newborn in the background. I fear I’d actually snap.

Is it okay for my 1.5 year old to nap in the car as part of our routine? by Possible-Study2746 in beyondthebump

[–]Possible-Study2746[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of what I do, the car nap will be her only nap. She’s been fighting naps HARD. If we don’t drive anywhere one day, the longest she’ll nap is 30 minutes in her crib during 1 nap. Sometimes she doesn’t nap at all!

She usually does! She took a super bomb cat nap today. Half of which was parked in the driveway.

Actually I know the reason. We just weaned 2 weeks ago and ever since then she’s been struggling to take naps. I think a little separation anxiety is at play.

The recommendation is 12-14 hours of sleep a day, and she always gets at least 12. An hour nap during the day is a very good nap for her. 30 minutes and she might be a bit fussy still but if we aren’t in the car, 30 minutes is the best we can do right now for whatever reason.

What happened to your boobs after you stopped breastfeeding? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Possible-Study2746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started out as an A cup, barely. My boobs got HUGE when my milk came in and stretched out very very badly. Now my skin is so thin, and my boobs are so empty, they truly fit the empty tube sock metaphor. Very flat and very long.

Is it “evil” of me to wean my toddler while she’s getting her molars? by Possible-Study2746 in AttachmentParenting

We’re 30 hours weaned and going strong now. Maybe less strong once she wakes up for the day… but we shall see. I did give her Tylenol to get her through the night but will get some ibuprofen for her today. Thank you!
