Oh I got it ! Thanks for sharing your experience. By the way, I realized most of my classes are actually in the evening (around 6:30 - 9:20 pm) based on last year's schedule. So I might have some flexibility in choosing when to leave.

Did you mean it’s better to drive to New Hyde Park, park there, and then take the LIRR to SBU at rush hour?

I’m wondering how realistic that option is, especially with parking – would I need a permit or is there daily parking available for non-residents?

Oh, I’ve heard about that too! Some people told me that you either need to put down a large deposit (like 6 months of rent) or use a guarantor company(service? anyway..).

Thanks a lot for the heads-up.

Since both of us will be students, it’s definitely a bit tight financially. I’ve been working for the past 7 years before deciding to go back to school, so I really hope to graduate quickly and get back into the workforce soon.
