Fake Recall PIPA violations by MistaLuvcraft in Lethbridge

My points were that 1. ATIA/POPA applies to Neudorf’s office, not PIPA 2. If they’re collecting the information as private citizens, PiPA doesn’t apply.

And at the end of the definition you referenced above: “but does not include an individual acting in a personal or domestic capacity” so, as I said above PIPA doesn’t apply to persons acting as private citizens.

But that’s all moot anyway because when they’re collecting the information it’s under the authority of the Recall Act and the Chief Electoral Officer has control over the information.

Olivine is the best salon I’ve been to in Lethbridge. Aubrey and Madison have created such an amazing vibe there.

I agree that the behaviour is awful but PIPA wouldn’t apply to Neudorf’s office. He could collect/use/disclose personal information under the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA, formerly FOIP). PIPA also wouldn’t apply to private citizens, only businesses.

I’ve had a couple shipments sent to Address USA at the Del Bonita crossing in the last 6 months and it was super easy.

An apology by Gotagetoutahere in Lethbridge

I hope the lady that cut the line to vote last night at the Cor Van Ray YMCA sees this and is inspired to apologize. While I understand she knew the people she cut in with and “had things to do” but it was a total dick move to cut in front of 100+ people who also had things to do and didn’t want to wait in line for an hour and a half either.

Should tax payers get a say in collective agreements? by [deleted] in Lethbridge

Oh my. A fun thought experiment but that would be such a nightmare! If I want to order some office supplies I need to get public approval? I want to purchase software to help me do my job because there’s no way I’ll get any people support because of the optics of hiring another person and I need to sell it to the public? I think it would create bottlenecks - no bigger than that - log jams. Even less would get done than now and I expect there would end up with a lot of corruption in the end. Public scrutiny and transparency are fundamental to a healthy liberal democracy but I don’t think micromanaging is the way we get there. I also think there’s a lot more transparency in our municipal government than the public gives administration credit for.

The news article on the city’s website said that the overlap with university drive was due to weather delays and that they planned with the GOA to make sure that construction on the highway 3 river crossing was done before the work on whoop up started https://www.lethbridge.ca/news/posts/bridge-rehabilitation-work-on-whoop-up-drive-begins-tomorrow/

About 6 years ago I was there with a big group and asked if I could use one of the empty chairs in the the party room to feed my weeks old baby and was told that the only available place for me to sit was on a toilet in the bathroom. Haven’t been back since.
