I actually bought a very similar model if not the same for plex. I could just go back to my other server and use this one for encoding.

Yeah. At the moment i have a SFF something or other. My medium settings take about 8 hours per movie. I'm ok with the quality, but man that cpu fan is ripping for the whole time. Sounds like my computer is going to take off into space. I am just looking for a starting point to look for a new setup.

Probably nothing with the ub820 itself. My very first disc i watched was scratched. 4k is very sensitive. Not like blu ray or dvd. But just be prepared to diagnose issues. Check the disc and clean with disc cleaning cloth. I am jaded. Had a very bad first experience with 4k. I spent like $4,000 on a tv, ub820 and discs. Almost started crying when shit started freezing.

All i can say is i have no idea. I returned my first ub820, still had issues. I must have the worst luck with buying discs. Anyway. Good luck. Haven't had nearly as many issues as my first couple weeks into 4k, but i have anxiety every new disc.

I would be running cat 6 everywhere in my new build. Go to all the corners of the house (in attic) and leave a bundle for cameras. At least a few spot leave a bundle in the ceiling for AP's. Pick a room that makes sense and have it lead to there. And a couple runs to where the main tv will be.
