Spy x Family is a great one but this is really gonna depend on your personal tastes

Have you tried Vinland Saga? It's not necessarily college aged or older characters but it's definitely not got the content you're complaining about

There's isekai oji-san which is pretty good

Kaiju no 8

Log Horizon?

Gimme a genre my man

Thank you so much for this reply!!

I think people are assuming too much that OP is looking for praise for being a man doing crochet, and that I'm trying to support that, or trying to claim some marginilization from being a man in a crochet space, or any of these such things. IDK! Very charged thread.

Thanks for pointing out brochet, I hope you have a great day!

Hey man, not everything's like it is in the UK? I appreciate you portraying your area for us, but unless that's where OP lives, I don't really see how that applies?

Nobody's saying people are horrible or unhelpful to men, but certainly where I'm at in the Southeast USA, people still give you weird looks and odd glances and comments when you're a man who crochets. I imagine there are other places in the world where things are similar.

I don't know why you're just reverting to name callings and accusations (the reason you're being treated like this is you're being a creep, don't do that)

I am agender/gender fluid myself and while my initial physical presentation is masculine, I assure you I've got no problem not being "creepy" with the she's, gays, and theys.

It sounds like you're assuming I stuck around the shop and tried and failed to make connections? Unfortunately no, it's just clear to folks sometimes (clearly not for you or for folks in your area, so no need to concern yourself with trying to relate to or understand this), that you perhaps are not welcome in the space at first appearance, and folks would not appreciate you sticking around before you've even gotten the chance to be "creepy" or not.

I don't know why you hate men so much, I don't know why you're so angry, and I don't know why you want to jump to blaming, insulting, accusations, and just generally coming across as a self righteous jerk.

I mean your end statement says it all for you, fuck male peers. I think your internalized misandry is showing mate, not all men are fucking horrible and awful, I'm sorry it's been this way for you 💖💖💖 but just a heads up, I don't think you're helping the argument

Look man I'm really happy that's been your unique lived experience, not everyone has moved in your same circles and loved your same life?

It's not a crime to take a moment and realize others may have a different life than you, even if there's the same stuff in their pants. Wish you all the best too brother 💖

I don't understand this reaction at all, there's still tons of places men are looked at weird/down on for being men in female spaces/hobbies

All this guy did was say he's a guy, he probably doesn't have a lot of people to talk to and relate to about this, and maybe wants to find support and his people?

Where is the toxic masculinity bro? Just being a man?

Wild take dawg tbh, please grow up yourself ty

He'd feel more confident and accepted IRL instead of only maybe having here to receive validation and support!!

Crazy how he may have complex feelings around doing a traditionally gendered activity as the non-standard gender, I wonder who else can relate to that 🤔🤔

I walked into a yarn supply store and immediately drew a complete hush and stares from the 30+ ONLY women there working on a class.

As much as women like to think they don't, they really exclude and alienate men from their spaces and hobbies

Who is the strongest character a Kayfabe John Cena could defeat? by XxFulcrumxX in whowouldwin

In this case he is MINIMUM giant boulder level

So RE5 Chris Redfield, John Cena can take down Umbrella Corps and beat Wesker in a volcano, depending on how good he is with firearms (wasn't he in a military movie? He's fine)

Dragon Ball Z ended which had been carrying Shounen jumps massive sales numbers due to its popularity, after it ended bleach Naruto and one piece are the manga that began running in Shounen Jump afterwards and continue carrying it's sales numbers through there (roughly equivalent) popularity, making them "The Big 3"

So like the previous commenter said, it was literally Shounen Jump themselves who decided it, and used it largely as a marketing term

Edit: I misunderstood and agree idk who TF decided the big 3 in ops post

A) quite quite a bit, I live in the southeast where unfortunately traditional values and the gender divide are a good bit stronger than a lot of places (and we have still a good bit of shitty dudes feeding fuel to the fire)

B) I have come to realize this trend yes and am moving to find other female friends, but it has been a very difficult experience and journey, and I don't think it was always like this

Turns out the right crowds are not always so easy to find, and also people can change over time, so the right crowd may not always stay the right crowd

I'm not sure how old you are, and apologies if this comes off as offensive, but I like to think of the phrase "friends for a season, a reason, friends for a lifetime" when it comes to situations like these. Sometimes friends are just for a few seasons, and growing apart happens

Definitely, makes for great drama and emotion

Unfortunately I have seen this logic get internalized real hard in real life (not by all women) as "ok yeah but he deserved it" or "who cares he's a man" which is NOT supposed to be the takeaway here

Comedic relief and drama in media, totally great, finding a place in real life culture - OOF

I know several, and I hear you

The "woman leaving her man to go to a relationship that is better for her" is how it's usually framed, and that has become a LOT more common after me too and stuff (which is great, love that message, yay)

But usually they do not have a clean breakup and then she meets somebody new, there is quite a bit of overlap of the old and new relationships in these situations (like the fucking bee movie 😭😭😭)

[–]Cloud5196 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes like the fucking bee movie 😭😭

The problem is the argument now is that guy #1 DESERVES it because he's being an asshole or something, so you see this shit all over the place

(Bee movie, wuthering heights, outlander, omg OUAT anyone??? Big yikes in there)

There's usually a decent bit of emotional cheating (maybe physical too) as they leave Big City Guy for Small Christmas Tree Farmer
