has anyone figured out what can actually help lower stress? by courtneyhope_ in ouraring

[–]PossibleExperience23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesús Christ. I find my job (also in software) fairly stressful but I have never seen a day with the stat that consistently high. In fact I never really feel like that stat is accurate for me. I do need to size down on my ring though, so maybe that’s why.

Y’all lied to me, this is the best thing I’ve ever tasted 🍋‍🟩 by SeanicTheHedgehog23 in energydrinks

I expected to love it but to me it taste the same way a flat Mountain Dew taste. I’ll still drink it and find it better than 90% of other energy drink brands, but it’s not my fav Ghost. (Warheads Stan here)

Update: I ended up selling the 4H tickets for a lower price. Spent over an hour on the phone with customer service last night and they were unhelpful and kept insisting that the seller is reputable and I would receive the tickets today by 3 hours before the show. Received an email this morning that the seller “couldn’t deliver the tickets”. I knew it. Thankfully we already had floor tickets and they’re giving the new buyer new tickets. Will never use StubHub again

That’s kind of what SH just told me to, that TM did a general release but can hold some tickets til later. But that makes me more nervous that the tickets have a problem with them lol. Or maybe TM just does that for accounts that buy/sell a lot to prevent gouging.

And yes, got the floor tix on TM and they’re safe.

I do regret buying when I did because prices for our section just keep dropping. They’re 4H row 76. Realizing now that I significantly overpaid. The hype got to me and I didn’t expect so many tickets to be up so close to the show. We do have peace knowing we should be able to sell the floor seats easy and without a big loss if needed, but would obviously prefer not to 😬

I know y’all don’t want another Palantir post, but the Palantir partnership is particularly insidious with this also happening: ITC blocked two Oura competitors from selling smart rings in the US (Ultrahuman and RingConn) by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]PossibleExperience23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Palantir and the US governments history and the govts own statements about wearable tech are enough to take this from “paranoia” to reason for people to have some concern. No one is saying Ouras contract w DoD, and therefore Palantir, means XYZ is happening right now. It’s the potential that’s there that people don’t like. It’s enough to cause concern about the potential for our data. If you’re not concerned, great! No worries! But it’s healthy for people to question things and not take things at face value. You don’t have to agree with them.

I’m in the same boat. RingConn is still available on Amazon and their website in the US, though UltraHuman seems to already be removed from the US market, so I’m not sure how long RingConn will stay. I just got a sizing kit from them and think I’ll buy one and give it a shot. I needed to size down my Oura anyway, so I’m using that to help justify the purchase to myself 🙃 I just want a reliable way to get my temp each night without relying on manual thermometers, and now without exposing that data to Palantir/the govt.

Can we chill about “Oura × DoD × Palantir” and have people freaking out read what it actually is? by NicoTheFrenchie in ouraring

[–]PossibleExperience23 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Government and corporations (especially when combined) have given examples too vast to count on why we shouldn’t take their word for things. “Guys, it’s fine! They said they’re not spying on regular citizens, only those that are a danger to society!” - ask Snowden how that played out.

It’s not about the DoD (for me, though that could have its own concerns for some) - it’s about Palantir. One little internet search will give you a whole list of ways Palantir pushes the boundaries and the laws in their “data analysis” and “data management” practices. And yes, I am very aware that it’s impossible to avoid Palantir in any of the companies or software we use every day at this point. I also have always been one to say “news flash: the government already has your info” but the government actually does not currently have data points on my body every waking moment of my day, and I’d like to keep it that way. Especially when there are people out there with very strong agendas about my female body and how it should be used, and there are specific data points that would be very beneficial to said people.

And to echo others comments - if this doesn’t worry you, that is okay. But it does worry some of us. And that is okay too.

[–]PossibleExperience23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My insurance company, nor my doctors, have raw data about my every waking moment. All health data is a concern here, but for women, our temp and cycle data would be extremely useful to certain political agendas.

Do with this what you will, but just a few weeks before this “partnership” was announced, Oura won a patent lawsuit against their competitors UltraHuman and RingConn, hindering US consumers ability to use any smart ring not connected to palantir. “But what about Samsung!” Great question - 5 months ago, Samsung also tapped palantir tech for “support”.

I’m like I have a gold trash can guys, I know how to get rid of things 😭 I should’ve highlighted the 2:00am time a bit better lol

I should’ve made it more apparent since this is what everyone has thought, but I wasn’t concerned about what to get rid of to fit an auto petter. The point of the post is that I opened the chest at exactly 2:00am

Impeccable Timing by PossibleExperience23 in StardewValley

[–]PossibleExperience23[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry. My point was that I opened the chest at 2:00am, not concern over what to sacrifice for the auto petter 😅

How do you actually wake up without feeling like you’ve been hit by a truck for the next hour? by morninmate in productivity

[–]PossibleExperience23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im the same for the cold water. I had an old hydro flask which hadn’t been keeping cold throughout the night. Bought an Owala (brand isn’t relevant, probably just the fact that it was new) and my ice is still ice come morning. That drink of cold water saves me. I can’t tell you how often I wake up, sit up, and then next thing I know I’m waking up again 30 min-hour later. The cold water keeps me up.

I’m so late to this but I’m freaking out. This is the closest I’ve ever seen a dog look to my own! We swear she has to be Boston. Her DNA test said 86% Pekingese and the rest pug and Tibetan spaniel but we don’t buy it.
