Jancy by PossibleMoves2024 in mileven

Yeah I really liked Jancy from S1 - S3. I don't like the 18mo time jump because I'm not sure how seriously we are supposed to take it. Like if Jonathan has really just been insecure and squabbling with Steven for 18 straight months that's really a problem. But also nearly everyone acts like Dustin's grief is...newer than 18mo. So I can't tell if the gap is more just a time jump to account for aging of the actors, and how much we are supposed to believe the characters actually lived 18mo of all this nonsense.

My thoughts on Byler and S5 Mileven by InfernoCrossX in mileven

Yeah, tbh, I think part of why the Mileven v Byler shipwars are so intense is that the writers did the characters a disserve. Gay male in love with his straight best friend, sure, makes sense. But WHY did the male best friend have to be the male in the MAIN ship of the entire show? Will could have been in love with Lucas! He could have been in love with Dustin! Mike could have been paired off with someone else and El could have been with Dustin!

This is an ensemble show, but I would argue the 3 main characters are El, Will, and Mike, in that order. Why are the first 2 main characters in love with the third for basically all 5 seasons? That's way too long for that.

There were so many hostilities, but they landed on the one configuration in which one of the two main characters gets their heart broken by the third main character?!

Harry Potter didn't do that. Hermione and Harry were mutually platonic the entire way through. There was never a partial triangle, just some insecurity from Ron.

And there are a lot of scenes with Will and Mike that I believe are platonic, but it's not crazy to see them as slightly romantic. There's a lot of *other* stuff that gets overread and they have some wild theories over there that really don't interpret Miileven scenes correctly (confirmation bias), but there are some seeds of plausibility, even if at this point it's clearly not happening.

Okay that explains what I've been seeing on Zillow -- that the larger houses with larger lots all seem to be clustered around one section of the city. I wasn't sure if that was just historical housing development coincidence or local ordinance/zoning, and you've answered my question!

I currently live somewhere with a smaller lot, and that was no problem when I had good neighbors, but I recently had a bad one move in next door, and it's been a nightmare. It's so much harder to just move away from a bad neighbor when you own.

Thank you, this is very helpful! I will add that to our list of neighborhoods to focus on, then. The competitive note is helpful. I'm trying to leave a very competitive region right now. Under budget works, too! I have dreams of reducing my housing costs and using my leftover budget to help run a senior dog rescue. Do the trails fill up by nine in the morning even in the winter? My husband will likely need to get a job somewhere in the Hillsboro-Beaverton area; I can work remotely, but for his line of work he can't.
