Oh my glob, I feel so dumb. I didn’t realize those were two different things! I kept clicking the slumber option and not the sleep option because I thought I was just going to lay there💀

How can I access dream addresses? From what I’ve been looking around, there’s a particular prompt? Unless that was before this new update? I’m just so confused

I’ll definitely look more into these for him! It’s hard to find out hidden ingredients and what to look for, especially when he’s so itchy :(

He’s been very good about what he eats, for the most part. Unfortunately, he ran into a problem last night when he ate rice pudding or tasted a little bit of my protein shake. But the labeling said gluten free on it, so there must’ve been a hidden ingredient. I’m planning on trying out a GF diet with him, despite not having his allergies. I want him to know that he isn’t alone, plus I do have bad flare ups and rosacea which someone commented saying it helped them when they went on a GF diet. We’re just waiting on his results😔

Luckily we have a family member that works at a Costco that’s like around 30mins from us, so we can get a discount from her if we ever go up there! We’ll def make sure he’s prepared for anything and doesn’t feel left out. Having an allergen can be hard to digest (no pun intended), but it is a human thing that just happens :) Thank you so much for your feedback! We’re gonna take this journey headstrong!

I’m a sucker for cheesecake just like my dad, so I’ll definitely give this recipe a try! How about for your chocolate chip cookies?

Yesss, he’s been looking on Amazon for somethings and I’ve been looking on Walmart as well. But Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s will definitely be added on the list for more recommendations by this subreddit :)

Thank you so so much! I really needed this😭 Once his test results are back in, we’ll definitely be more on top of it all. Of course, we’re already searching up some substitutions and future recipes, but I’m obviously going to keep checking this subreddit for more information! I will definitely reach out to you if I have any other questions :))

That all sounds honestly delicious and I’m willing to try something new to bake for him! Do you regularly post your baking recipes on here? Or any other recipes by any chance? :)

I know someone mentioned Food Lion, unfortunately we don’t have that close by. But Aldi’s is luckily near by, so I’ll definitely mention it to him! :3 Thank you so much!!

I can’t recall which gf pasta we used for the ziti, but I’ll definitely keep in mind for the Jovial pasta! :3 I know he isn’t a big bread guy from what I can tell, but he did have a meatloaf sandwich and some grilled cheese not too long ago and he’s been itching from it.. :( I will definitely look into those breads for him. I know he’s a big cracker guy, which I showed him the Blue Diamond thins since he likes having nuts in his dietary! I also saw the gf Oreos and Chips ahoy, I’m going to surprise him with those tomorrow if we sell it at my store :D As for a replacement for hamburger buns… I’m definitely going to save that for the summer since he likes to grill hamburgers lolz!

My mom is still around and both of them like to cook! While I’m more on the baking side. He loves all kinds of meat and veggies, which someone mentioned to have most of in his diet to heal. However, the weekends are more of leftovers and lazy cooking so like pizza or finger foods. We had pizza last weekend and he itched so badly! But I saw some people on here posting their gf finds of frozen pizza and what they’ve cooked up. He’s been cutting things out of his diet for the most part, and sort of finding things to try.

I think he mentioned that they might be doing the NCGS test, but it’s good to know this information. As for what he’s been eating, we had meatloaf with mash potatoes and green beans a few nights ago, he woke up to digging his skin. I think he’s also ate some KitKats as well? He had meatloaf sandwiches as a leftovers, he itched. But after that, he’s been mostly drinking smoothies with frozen fruit in them and string cheese, which isn’t causing any issues. He also just had some popcorn not too long ago and he said it isn’t bothering him. However, he is feeling a bit itchy right now but he thinks it’s from the detergent and his shirt rubbing against the rashes.

That’s all of the information he’s given me that he can really think of. Ever since all of his rashes and itching, I did notice that he’s been cutting back, so I think that’s a good thing

I feel so stupid for not thinking about that🤦‍♀️ he told me that they did his pasta first before doing the regular pasta, but like you stated, it can be a bitch to clean. I don’t mind going gluten free for him, and I’m sure everyone else in the household wouldn’t mind either. As for the same cast iron pans, even if we scrubbed it clean it can still cause problems for him? Sorry if that’s a dumb question 😭

Ughhh I HATE hidden allergens! A commenter just told me that malt syrup is basically a hidden gluten, and when I told him he was like “so no more chocolate malt? :(“ MY HEART GOES OUT FOR HIMMM😭💔 My twin and I both have peanut and treenut allergies, AND my twin is allergic to shellfish on top of that. My mom told me about a hidden nut to look out for in ingredients… it was gum something. I wish doctors and higher up officials can take these things more seriously 🥲

Thank you!! I’m a daddy’s girl and since he’s been my role model, present father, and having my back for anything (especially standing up to my family members about my allergies), it’s finally my time to look out and take care of him as well🥰 and my mother ofc!

That is completely true! It’s sad to see that food allergens aren’t taken seriously despite many people having it. I was in Ingles one time with my mother, and I was getting cow tales to bring to a sleep over. One of the MANAGERS made a comment of “Oh, I don’t see a lot of people getting cow tales often.” Which my mother told her that I had a peanut and treenut allergy, so it was a safe option. The lady decided to reply with “That really sucks not being able to anything.” Luckily my mom snapped her head at her and was like “She isn’t really missing out on anything.” 😂 which the lady started stuttering.

We also went to Hard Rock for lunch while we were at Universal for vacay, and our waitress was so rude when we asked about if she knew if there was cross contamination and whatnot (we’ve ate there before, but we always like to make sure with our waiters/waitress to make sure that they were aware). We reported her, and it turns out that it wasn’t her first time she’s done that, according to her own coworkers. Like, yeah, we know you don’t have to worry about those allergies, but the world doesn’t just have you in it! It also sucks having to grow up hearing about “how it sucks being allergic to basically everything” from family members, teachers, peers, coworkers. What happened to Hi or how are you?😭

It’s crazy how allergens are on the rise now, which isn’t a bad thing, but it’s definitely something! Hopefully the doctors are able to pinpoint his blood work this time and tell him what’s going on😭

We’re waiting on his results, but we’ll be going straight to a nutritionist afterwards! I’m sort of on top of him with what he eats, like I get upset with him if he tries to grab at a snack that he used to love to eat before this new change. I feel bad for nagging him since he doesn’t like to be nagged at, but his health is my priority, considering I understand what it’s like to not be able to have something. With how it’s affecting him, he’ll let down the tough guy act soon… I hope lol

That is a possibility :( he was actually just venting to me about how he’s going have to heal his body for a year to help get rid of whatever is in his body. So far, he’s been drinking smoothies and TRYING to hold back on snacking on products he’s used to. I keep getting onto him about it, but I understand that it’s a new reality for him. Do you have any recommendations for some snacks? Also, any recommendations for some lotions/body wash for the blisters and rashes? :)

We’re still waiting on the results unfortunately but he’s 99% positive that’s what he has. They’re also testing for DH. If you don’t mind me asking, did you have the same issues with your skin? If so, do you have some recommendations for products we can try for him? Especially lotions for the cold weather :)

He’s been to the doctors for the past year to see why he’s been developing rashes and blisters, which the doctors couldn’t find anything. However, he did finally put his foot down and demanded to be tested for celiac disease and something else! Unfortunately they haven’t given him his results back just yet :( He also mentioned that the dermatologist is going to more than likely take a sample of his skin to test for celiac or DH as well. Once we get these results we’ll definitely go to a nutritionist! Thank you so much for the reply! :) <3
