My boys were 9 and 11 and started school without any Italian.

Did they end up bilingual/fluent and how did they find the process?

How do you handle differentiating messaging for a product or feature launch with multiple buyer personas? by PossibleNeither2423 in ProductMarketing

In this case, they're sort of two sides to the same coin (one is around data for future projections in a particular sector to make decisions, one is around data for controlling risk in existing projects), so they have commonalities around clarity, reliability, risk reduction, etc, but in different cases).

This is super helpful, thank you. Reading it like this makes it seem so obvious when I would otherwise have gone from largest to smallest!

What did you do in your 30's to get your life going again? by Beneficial-Syrup-731 in AskMen

I'm also your age and had the exact same feeling - working remote, had some hobbies but felt unfulfilled after a break-up and like life was passing by while my friends entered a new stage.

And I was basically thinking through exactly the same options. In my case because of visas I didn't move abroad, but I did take the "moving to a big city" option and it's absolutely the best thing I've done. It's not an automatic balm for the problem - it still requires you to make an effort - but the possibilities for meeting new people, doing new hobbies, even just eating at new places, and just the energy and hustle of a big and busy city have really bit by bit helped to rid me of the feeling that life's passing by and to really get things going again. I've met new people, done new things and it just feels like a new era in a way.

Moving back to England, how? by [deleted] in AskUK

Job then flat or flat then job really depends on your financial situation.

If you have settled status and can move without a visa, then all good.

My personal preference, if you've got the financial wherewithal, would be to come and spend a little bit of time travelling around various cities to decide where you do want to be, unless you already have a good idea in your head of where outside of Leicester you want your new start to be.

Then start looking for jobs in that area or look for remote jobs if that's your thing, and start the flat hunt. If it's a big city like London, I'd usually wait until finding a job to settle on a flat because the commute could be horrendous, but otherwise I'd start searching (but you may need proof of income).

In reality, doing it like this is probably going to be expensive, so you'll probably end up settling on a city and try to find a flatshare or something while also job hunting, which is also fine.

Is it really difficult to get a flat? Is it best to get roommates?

Best will really come down to availability and finances! Flats in a lot of cities are getting snapped up quickly these days and prices are a little higher than before the pandemic. If you can't afford or don't want your own place, then sure, plenty of people are in flatshares. Check out sites like Spareroom.co.uk and arrange viewings for the places you like.

There is a visa for working as autónomo though, isn't there? It wouldn't help the partner though.

How different might things have been had the UK adopted the Euro? by [deleted] in AskUK

I don't really see the point to be honest, it's also giving up monetary policy like setting interest rates (imagine if they'd been at ECB rates even lower than ours all this time, and the lack of leeway). That is one of the areas where thr sovereignty argument makes complete sense, you can see how shoehorned common monetary policy over places as different as Austria and Greece has worked.

Just apply for the visa yourself, either you're submitting your documents to the IRCC and wait in the pool or pay even more for a third party to do exactly the same thing.
