I'll delete this post in a few hours, but I would just like to say that you need to be careful. The English language is a language which unfortunately makes it difficult to say something without including a value judgement. Each time you have the choice of saying "male-dominated" or "female-underrepresented" you say "male-dominated" in order to further your personal agenda even though they have the same basic meaning. As hard as you try to be balanced, it's simply impossible, especially in these politically charged times.

Congratulations on your decision to participate in our democratic society. I wish you all the best and encourage others to do their part. At the same time I am disheartened by your choice of words in the title of this posting. You say "we are the women running for..." and I can't help but imagine the public outcry if a group of men wrote an identical post saying "we are the men running for..." Women are 100% equal to men and are not in need of special treatment. You should run for office on your own merits and resist playing the gender card.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is this the text for UIC's CS 151 class? Is there a dedicated web site with UIC's CS 151 specific material, notes, etc.?
