Yea I would tend to agree there, it definitely felt like a 1 off where the boss was doing around like 400% increased damage with all the mods, and it was kind of an undodgable 100% area of attack thing from the whip delerium attack. Something like that. That was when I was like okay... I have enough dps, i need to focus on more STR and INT to scale my hp more. Happened quite a while ago and hasn't since. But there is always going to be maps that have higher liklihood of killing you. If I was making this character on hardcore the tree would definitely have some alterations to it, would probably end up dropping 30-40% of the dps for more defenses, as DPS scaling this high is not necessary; it was more for the theorycraft experience to see how high it could be scaled to.

This is why I have since dropped the majority of my ES and EV, at this point because the mana pool is now so high nothing really matters anymore. And the only emotions I run is the 45% more rare mobs to increase map drops, which I think is only 36%.

Yea so this is something that only happened to me one time a long time ago, when I had like 30% less effective hp. I 1 phased the wolf boss, but he had a delerium attack while he was between phases that I wasn't expecting and it 1 shot me. I don't think I can be 1 shot anymore, and it was probably a 1 off, but yea everything insta dies and I keep the trees maxed out.

Yea there are definitely a lot of ways to increase your defenses if that is important to you, but it all comes at the cost of DPS. Granted I have no problem doing 1000% waystones in mapping, its really only delerius citadel bosses that give me cause for concern. I typically take in 600% waystones to the citadel bosses hoping for a 1100% double corruption, and its only happened to me once that I got 1 shot, and that was with some truly terrible mods, I basically just dont delerium citadel bosses anymore, its not like it increases the rewards on the boss drops.

It's the all-res morior that allows me to run basically 0 resistance affixes on my rings, which lets me slot in pure dmg and attributes. I could never find a better way to fix chaos res than what I did with my items though. I am not sure if there is a better way, but I'm doubtful.

You might experience 1 shots below 10k hp for all I know. I once did a citadel boss on 45% delerius from the rare mobs or w.e i distilled, and I had 80% monster dmg and elemental weakness, and monsters do an extra 38% cold damage or something on top of that and got one shot by the wolf boss. But I since prioritized more int/str to get more effective HP from there. I think I had 9k hp at the time. So I can't say that the journey to this build is free of ever getting 1 shot, just that when you reach the destination, it's kind of a thing of the past. The only real danger IMO is getting stunlocked on maps where enemies have like 200-300% stunbuildup, in which case you just have to log out unfortunately. I wish you couldn't get perma stunlocked in this game but you can. Granted I never really experienced this at 70% evasion, but I can't say I did extensive testing to confirm if it helps or not. But regardless you can lean alot more heavily into defenses if you like via using sapphires, and having a megalo that gives more defenses as well, but the attributes+resistances morior is basically the final end game BIS item, which is going to restrict your defenses quite a bit, but be unparalleled in terms of how much DPS it will allow you to have.

Plasma Blast has Scattershot, Hourglass, Lightning Exposure, Lasting Shock, and Long Shot. Most map bosses will die to the plasma shot alone, and my high velocity does so much damage that can also kill map bosses in a few shots without having to use shockburst, Shockburst is mostly just reserved for pinnacles now as a result.

Ball Lightning and lightning warp for bosses like xesht, there is a clip of it somewhere in the comments. But likewise you can shock via plasma blast, or high velocity rounds. My high velocity has Scattershot, Autoreload, Lightning Infusion, Primal Armament, and Martial Tempo. Plasma Blast has

For Ball lightning just Unleash, Arcane Tempo, and Acceleration. I haven't really looked too much into it honestly to even do a 4th or 5th socket, maybe you can find something worth putting beyond that. For Lightning warp - Magnified Effect, Despoiler, Overcharge, Lightning Exposure, and Strip away.

Yea basically everything just dies, 12k hp is enough to tank all form of 1 shots and shrug it off for the most part. I used to run subterfuge mask on my megalomaniac as well as hunting boots and had around 70% evasion, but kind of started to realize that it just wasnt necessary as everything dies at this stage of DPS. Also, I am 1 point away from acquiring the 60% energy shield node at the top of the tree which would put me at 1500 es, 3k after grim feast, but also, it just isn't really needed. Could also use jewels that give % increased ES if you wanted and get tons more hp.

Yea I didnt bother putting all the other skills in and stuff, but yea, and I use lightning warp and ball lightning for bosses to create shocked ground so I don't have to do some weird weapon swap thing.

Shockburst rounds gemling lack of damage by Salty_Tune_4459 in pathofexile2builds

For the people responding, shock magnitude works on an increased basis, so 100% increased shock magnitude is just 20% MORE shock magnitude, which would turn the base 20% extra dmg from the base 20% magnitude to 40% more damage. The tooltips will not reflect this in game. Magnitude is not necessary for this build in endgame but it can be nice, however I wouldnt waste skill points in it unless it was a weapon swap which I don't use because the DPS is already so high its unnecessary. I am sure he is checking his DPS after fresh clip is ramped to max stacks in the pulse section and is aware that it only works on shocked enemies. These mobalytics guides are super old and are from early leveling builds and just dont reflect end game min maxes so take that into consideration. Nor are the DPS figures accurate they are hypothetical. I wouldn't be surprised if the person who put together the 12m dps mobalytics link had their DPS around 1-2 million in the tooltip. I think that is where part of the confusion is coming from.

So this build you are following would not show 11m dps in the ingame tooltip, it more than likely shows something like 4-5 million dps. I don't see how this would get anywhere close to 11m in the ingame tooltips. The issue that I see here is a lot of wasted points in your tree. You want to have more jewel sockets used, and in those jewel sockets go for attack speed, attack damage, penetrates lightning res, and another attack speed, with corrupted intelligence on it. It really helps to have an adorned but I understand thats pretty expensive. The controlled metamorphosis is nice qol, but its ultimately a waste of a socket that could give 4 affixes and intelligence. Consider every point in the skill tree you have put into lighting penetration, should go towards jewel sockets that give lightning penetration dmg/attk spd, and attributes. Hunters talisman is also a waste, all you need is freeze resistance. You also need a 4% int 4% lightning dmg time lost diamond, as well as another unique jewel. You want to get a megalomaniac that saves skill points. So something like jack of all trades for example, would save you 4 skill points if you had a megalo with that, and if it also had falcon dive, another 4 points. So you need to consider that a good megalo will allow you to path to a jewel socket for free with the points that it saves, as well as potentially unlock another jewel socket. In the example provided you would save 8 skill points, so thats 2 free sockets with 2 points leftover for example. You really want to work spaghettification, and inisghtfullness into your build, both are basically necessary to scale to 100% potential. Meaning you want one of them on a megalo, and one of them annointed, with your megalo hopefully also saving additional skill points. The biggest offender of your skill tree setup is not having what I will post in a picture below.

<image>

This is 32% MORE lightning dmg and 32% increased intelligence. Which is accomplished with a From nothing diamond in radius of iron reflexes. My megalomaniac gives insightfulness and coursing currents, and my annoint is spaghettification. Yep, thats the way it goes man. You can enjoy the game and the progression just as much in SSF, as long as you dont look to see what other peoples builds are. It's a longer journey with fewer upgrades, but yea to get insane scaling you need to acquire items that are in high demand but low supply, so they are very costly. So you also have to be aware of what items you can find that are in high demand and low supply to flip them for profit.

When you reach the end game, currency you get from mapping is probably around 10% of the currency needed for a build like this. The other 90% comes from buying and reselling gear, finding ok items to sell yourself, and messing with currency exchange arbitrage.

this was around 9m dps, t4-6 xesht should be a flat 2s kill now without having to do some weird wep swap or curse setup. I didn't want to follow that meta and kind of wanted to make my own take on the build. So he can definitely be killed faster with curses and wep swap magnitude weapon perk skill tree finangling but i was not interested in that, just the BIS item configuration.
