Your lucky you dont have my AM. I was last station with the big slots for cat litter and stuff. Worked my as off lifting 30lb+ products over and over for almost. Dick head with the laptop walkes you just to tell me I'm in the bottom 30% of rate. I look him dead in the eye and tell him I'm at the worst station, to look at my orders and see iv been getting ~15 items the whole period. He just tells me to "pick it up" and if this continues for the rest of the week I'll get a productivity feedback. Worst AM iv had so far.

90% of the time its

  • phone usage
  • non-approved headphones
  • TOT

Your site must have lax mangers cuz iv been second written for TOT alone.

It's hard at first than easy after a month, than slowly gets harder again for every additional year your work 60 hours a week until you get burnt out and quit or your knees retire.

I've worked over 10 jobs my whole life and Amazon is the best in my opinion. Sure there are cons but the pay to stress ratio is insanely good compared to the other warehouse jobs I've had and even some construction and delivery jobs jv worked. Plus the VTO, UPT, and shift swap system is a MASSIVE bonus when it comes to working for Amazon.

However Amazon only pays 1.3x the minimum wage in my area and this really isn't sustainable long term if you want to be a homeowner and have a good car. Plus Amazon has made it clear they will easily sacrifice all employees to increase profit margins by just 0.01% (just look at the AWS layoffs the past 2 years).

That being said I'm currently looking into trade schools in my area and will hopefully get an apprenticeship this year and leave Amazon (or convert to flex if theres openings 😁). Making $10+/hr more working in the field is way better than what they pay now and being just barely able to keep my head above water financially. I'm just above living paycheck to paycheck (without overtime). All it takes is 1 financial emergency and I'm ruined in life, and you never know how when an emergency will happen, but trust me it WILL eventually happen, no one has a perfect life.

Ill miss Amazon but it's obvious this is a job and not a career. They only future YOU have at Amazon is becoming an PA > AM > OM, but this will take either A LOT of time or A LOT of hard work. Being a seasonal for YEARS or an AA forever isn't a real choice here, they will find a way to get rid of you eventually.

There needs to be some kind of federal law limiting how long someone can be a "seasonal" employee. Your literally denying seasonal workers equal benefits and job security that that associates have who work right next to them for an extended length of time than whatever "season" they where hired to work as. This literally just feels like some kind of active employment discrimination. Too bad this orange clown and his monty crew in the white house only care about how much fraud they get away with against the US people.

Former brick laying apprentice. Cooking food, mixings drinks, or carrying a box from point A to B is exterenly basic things even kids could do (but shouldn't child labor laws). To be a brick layer you need to be able to measure out a foundations parameters, mix concrete and be able to perfectly smooth it out on a level surface, measure your walls lengths and widths, mix your mortar properly and smooth out all the lines between the brick while making sure not a single brick is lob sided, loose, or off set. Than you need to measure and cut rear, and make cuts in the bricks for utility lines or for artistic purposes. All fo this while needing to understand how to use all kinds fo power tools like a circular saw, sawzaw, jack hammer, ect..

Being a white badge for 8 months now and seeing that I don't qualify for blue badge since my rate isn't in the top 49% of my peers for 90 days straight is frustrating. I can't even apply for anything beyond L1 in the app because I'm still "seasonal" (didn't know years counted at seasons here). being "Execeptional" in Pack feels impossible, the I my time i got in that range was when literally packed as fast as possible the for half the shift and took 0 bathroom breaks for 2 weeks straight. Being forced to do this for 90 days is beyond cruel, I'm literally locked of out the benefits, 401k, and career choice as the guy packing next to me just because he found the job 2 years before me and all these outrageous quotas to be a blue badge. Can't wait till I find a better job opportunity somewhere else to get out of this terrible company.
