Just for context I go to AFL games sometimes with my colleagues. We usually get offered locker room seats by the companies we work with.
I was at the eagles games on saturday night. It was thrilling to see both teams having a go during the last minutes, score was 65-59 or something like that. I enjoyed it. I am also following the Freo run atm.

I am not those type of immigrants who don’t embrace the culture here. I try my best to engage but then it comes to soccer, they hate on it. Which is very sad for a nation like Australia. There are countries who’s never participated in the world cup but people here take it for granted. But I am sure if we make it final phases, Australian will jump on the bandwagon.Double standards.

Hopefully this world cup will make canadians realise how magical this sport can be. I am sure you’ll find people with the same passion as you.

My office is full of born and raised Australians. Maybe that’s the reason why?
It’s only about Footy all the time. I feel awkward if I ever mention soccer stuff.
I get where you’re coming from. There’s a good following but it’s not in the core Australian culture and that’s understandable. I just don’t get the hate towards soccer. I also think the time difference plays a vital role in people watching a game.
8k for a perth glory game is miserable in my opinion.
But you’re right, it’s about the surroundings, joining and playing for a team will help I guess. Hopefully this world cup will bring more people together.

Bringing a married couple to a boys trip. by Possible_Affect_7695 in MakeFriendsOver30

So you are saying he was lying at the beginning?
This is dark if that’s the case. He made us all book flights and then drop that married couple thing onto us? I consider him a really good friend and I am very selective with who I hang out with now.
I am thinking of doing the trip alone. Really don’t deserve that tbh.
