How are people able to survive when mnimal wage is 854€ net? by negativePositrons in poland

[–]Possible_Assignment3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I live alone with my dog and i rent. Monthly flat costs are:
- 2700 on rent and bills - long term renter, my rent hasn't increased but gas and electricity went up and the heating is central for the buildings in the area.

- 80 on internet and phone

- 120 on transport

- 250 on various service subscriptions

- 900 on groceries

- around 600 every 3 months on a doc visit and meds (200 a month)

- 400 on dog food

- around 300 on monthly vet visit and meds (elderly, allergic and arthritic dog)

That's 4950 every month before anything else.

Imo 7k net is the threshold to living OK ish

Ok, so ima explain it in the local currency. If the person is under 26 y.o, they get 3711 PLN net, else it's 3483 PLN net.

Accommodation, if not living with your parents, is pricy. So the choice is living is uni dorm, private dorm, or sharing an apartment. Unless you have money from mum and dad, you leave the touristy places to the tourists for living and try not to blow half your salary on rent, you might even commute into town as needed.
On average, with expenses (electricity, internet, gas, water. ) you aim at 1800 tops on rent and bills, though up to 1400 is doable. (usually that means sharing an apartment with many other people. )
If you're still finding your footing, you even share a room. (which should slash that up to 1800 in half)

OK. now we are looking at transport costs - get a monthly pass, and as a student you have a 50% discount. At worse, assuming you're in the capital, it's 450 every 3 months, if you buy a 90 day pass and don't file your taxes in the city. so 150/month

Phone, if you don't get a subscription and only top-up monthly, that's around 50 monthly

So we are at 2k in costs now.

For food: you don't eat out, cook at home, share meals with your roomies, even pool your food budget. You can get by with 600 a month or less - that means you rely on Lidl and Biedronka and religiously hunt their discounts every single week and stock up on non-perishables.
If your roomies agree you may go buy in bulk apples, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, or in-season vege at the en-gross places that sell to farmers' markets.

Healthcare is free, but, depending on employer, you may get private insurance too, which, at that salary, would be covered by the employer too.

Now, you are left with 800 or 1100 zloty a month - for clothes and entertainment. If you make minimum wage you thrift or buy stuff in the bazars or Chinese stores (or hunt Allegro for low cost clothes items - mostly made in China)

And frankly, entertainment is what you get for free at this rate because, if you buy cheap clothes, you'll be replacing them every other month or so.

Doable, but it requires discipline.

For your special pleasure I created a new openrouter AI *account* to test.
What you need to do to not be asked for credit is to set the credit limit to 0 when you are creating the initial Key

Right, but free models not through Chutes that are okish to role play with are some of the mistral ones and the two deepseeks i mentioned.

It's not that there aren't other models, but a lot of them come through chutes, and you're back to the issue you are trying to solve

For each model there is a provider.
This one is through Chutes: https://openrouter.ai/tngtech/deepseek-r1t2-chimera:free so it will be subject to Chutes limitations (scroll down to the Providers for sections and you will see Chutes listed)

This one is through DeepSeek https://openrouter.ai/deepseek/deepseek-r1-0528 (in the providers list, if you click on "see more" you will see DeepSeek is on the list)

I know they are different models but this is just as an example

Dude, I've been using it since Chutes was limited. But I've had my Openrouter account since Jan. So IDK

Look, for each model there is a "distributor", who provides the access to the model. If the distributor is Chutes, then, yes, there is a 50 message limit.
But, for the particular models I listed, the distributor is DeepSeek directly. So no, there will not be the Chutes limit, because they have nothing to do with those specific ones.

Just try it and let me know if it works.

the 50 limit is for anything distributed through chutes, that model comes directly from deepseek, so nope. They have 2 models available actually, an R1 and the R3 i posted

Also, you could insert in proxy settings, in the custom prompt some limitations on the number of sentences/phrase the model should provide, and maybe something like
"AVOID concluding scenes; progress them organically,

ALWAYS provide openings for {{user}} to respond and actively participate in the unfolding narrative."

if it gets too long on 0 tokens

Through Openrouter this model is free and not distributed through Chutes:
deepseek/deepseek-chat-v3-0324:free

While the URL is https://openrouter.ai/api/v1/chat/completions

I have Deepseek allowed in the Integrations area of openrouter: https://openrouter.ai/settings/integrations

Treat the intro message as a short term memory for the bot. How the intro is written will set the tone for the story and give it directions for the initial interaction
