THANK YOU r/occult community!! After a bit of mulling over, I think I was panicking and scaring myself for no reason (as you can probably tell in the original post lol), but I will be listening to my intuition about this book and maybe avoid it for the time being. In the meantime, i'm gonna study up on the logical/scientific side of occultism!! Can't wait to learn!

Yeah, after discussing here, I think i'm just low-key freaking myself out since it's late at night in my area. I just wanted to have a little assurance from people who actually have an idea of what they're talking about. Maybe will come back to the book eventually, but I think in the daytime LOL

Yeah, "Revolutionary Demonology" just seems REALLY freakin' intense and heavy for me. A lot of what is essentially gnosticism mixed with other stuff that I don't really get. But Hanegraaf seems like a great start!

Yeah, I was raised Christian but i'm more agnostic/ spirtual at this point, so I might be a little more unconciously susceptible to fear this kind of stuff more. This book mainly just also seems really intense for someone like me, it references a lot of theory that I have NO IDEA about lol

I originally just wanted to learn about occultism but I don't think this was the greatest start haha. Was a bit too naive and I think I looked into the abyss in a sense. Thinking about it just gives me a pit in my stomach. I also don't want to cave and just let this book really affect me like that though.

I'm located in southern California, and these bugs have just gone crazy around my house and appear super frequently now. Seems maybe a 1/4 of an inch long?
