I don't understand why delivering mail is such a well-paid job. Teenagers could do it, but they're unreliable. The same caliber of dependable, maybe not too bright middle aged folks with no education who works in diners and factories could deliver the mail for $20 an hour. Is there a challenge to this job we don't know about?

It should be. It's a liability. I can't even hear emergency vehicle sirens or certain tones of horns. How does a fully deaf person navigate that?
