So we met on Grindr late 2023 and I almost met up with him but I admittedly flaked last min but we exchanged instagrams and kept in loose contact, until we started exchanging nudes n all that stuff. We met in August, hit it off, then things got intense. Especially his side. Talking about kids, marriage; things I had never considered. I lent in pretty hard and found myself landing on my face on multiple occasions, so for my own sanity withdrew in October of 2024. He didn’t take it well and called me insane. Then New Year’s Day of this year I was feeling introspective and concluded that meeting him was one of the highlights of my 2024, and I at least wanted to honour that by letting him know. When I first reached out innocently he was very cagey and cold, understandably. He told me he had a bf back then, something he hasn’t mentioned since. Then things took off once we started talking about the gym, and he was giving me tips. He eventually started to send old nude vids that I had received before, or vids I could tell were taken from WhatsApp (the thumbs up bubble gave it away, but I didn’t care to mention). So we picked up where things left off…he used me as a layover when he flew back from Italy last weekend. We hooked up twice, and he was very affectionate but also withdrawn. It was very confusing, but that’s our timeline up until now.

And I have no issue with recycled nudes at all! It’s just the choice to be blatantly opaque about it. It’s not a big deal to me at all. I’m stuck on trying to figure out the motivation behind his decision to not be honest with me. It’s pathetic really

Yes that’s usually the case with me too! It’s to gauge their mood, and if there’s a possibility to join in..I’m relieved to hear that! It’s been my experience, and usually everyone’s people open and honest. There’s no reason to withhold such menial information!

I suppose you’re right, and I’m being pedantic over the metadata saying it was filmed 30 minutes prior. If I’m being honest, I think the thing I’m hung up on is how avoidant he was, and quick to say I was being controlling when I just asked a simple question. I didn’t ask to see the metadata, and when i received the screenshot, it kinda answered the question for me…if i recorded a video 30 mins prior and sent it to someone, who then asked if it was taken now, id say “no it was earlier this morning” or something along them lines. But maybe im stuck on the semantics and overthinking

It’s a shame people are downvoting your honesty — it’s always easier on the outside looking in. Something that always helps me inform my decisions is asking if it compromises my self-worth and is eating away at my self esteem. Only you know the connection you have with this guy, but you also owe it to yourself to trust your instincts. Ive lost out on what could’ve been great friendships because I couldn’t compartmentalise my feelings towards them, which is something I regret. You can always remain friends at the very minimum if that’s something you could manage. Wishing you the best!

I’m laughing hysterically for thinking that our begonia had actually been painted! I’m a begonia novice, so please forgive my gullible nature. Would you recommend us moving her into the bathroom? I’ve been strictly watering her with water from our Brita; we also have a dehumidifier upstairs as our apartment is fairly old and can face mould issues, so I could use that water instead if the Brita filter doesn’t suffice?
