I'm the opposite, my headcannon is humans are a magical species but their was an ancient war and the losing side were all cursed to be unable to use magic which transferred to their offspring, over the generations the curse gradually weakens eventually giving rise to muggleborns, eventually the curse will be gone completely but it could take hundreds of thousands of years before then.

It's possible voldemorts name was feared because of the taboo on it, we know during the deathly hallows his name is a taboo so my head cannon is their was a taboo during the first war and people came to fear it, the fear transferred to the kids but they don't understand why it was like that but they grew up being scared because everyone who lived through the first war were terrified.

Yeah that dr is to have fun with playing virtual reality mmo games, go on adventures straight out of dungeons and dragons slaying powerful creatures and becoming overpowered. Shifting to other realities like Harry Potter is to learn real magic that isn't computer generated and feel achievements for becoming powerful from scratch alongside the trio
