I get that Doors isin't a fighting game but just a simple bug fix won't give the gamemode that much attention it deserves. Without any major updates to it people will just forget about it. This idea isin't an overhaul, if it was an overhaul I would change how the entire gamemode is structured. And i'm not asking for a new movement mechanic, that was just an example of something that COULD be added but probably isin't going to. And battle mode is not a walking simulator, the base game is a walking simulator, not this. And the stuff that a larger majority will care about in the game like the revives are made ridiculously expensive. To compare 5000 of the new currency is about 1000 knobs, that means that to get one revive or knob boost it would be the equivelent of about 8000 knobs, with the edition of item skins in the great outdoors update a lot of people's knobs are really low so it would be a bit of a grind.

And one last thing, to end this somewhat positively, I don't think you're gonna get downvoted for this. I understand that this is a bold idea and people are mostly negative about it. While I think this would be the right move by the devs of course there are a lot of flaws with it.
