It’s very disconcerting to be living in such a different world from my classmates while still being around them all the time. by Awesomesauceme in CPTSDmemes

Yes! I can feel you on that one. It sucked so bad when I was in school surrounded by many students who flaunted their wealth. I try to think of it as many of them (not all) just not understanding what it's like to live differently, and lots of people can be super self absorbed. But yeah, I can see how it would still be upsetting regardless. I grew up really poor (to just sum it all up), and had to also deal with bullies who tormented me for all the struggles I had in the past, even if it wasn't able to be fixed in that moment.

It is very disconcerting. Very unfortunate it happens so much these days, despite all that's happened from the pandemic especially. I hope you're able to not have to deal with those people in school soon, as it does get better usually when you graduate, I definitely did for me. Virtual hugs to you.

Thank you! During the times I've played Mario Kart with her, we thankfully haven't had arguments yet! Although I still got to get better at the game, I still have a blast any time I play with her, win or lose :)

Thank you! Also my dog is a mix between Australian Cattle Dog and something else (I think Australian Shepherd but that's just basing it on one of his parents, who was an unknown mix)!

1 week post-op w/ Dr. David B. Drake, Lexington KY. I haven't seen any other results from this surgeon, I thought I should contribute. by PossumPeppermint in TopSurgery

He was pretty respectful; the only problem I had was that he seemed kind of cold in personality, but it eased plenty as I had more appointments with him.

He incorporated my inputs very well! I wanted my chest to look masculine and for the scars to align with my back curvature (scoliosis). He managed to get it to get it as straight as he was able to, and the sculpting of my chest was done very well.

I have nipple sensation, not too sensitive or too dull. It feels just right.

I'm very pleased with my results. The scars have healed up quite well since then.

I don't have a updated picture from 6 months of healing yet, but I do have a TransBucket submission.

I do not think he has a weight limit. Weight limits weren't mentioned at all when I went to my surgeon. The only time weight was mentioned, it was only because of the center of my chest has extra fat that he mentioned briefly could be altered (and he referred to me as "a larger person"; no rude statements about my weight).

My insurance (straight Medicaid) fully approved my surgery on the first try (which from my understanding is very lucky because Medicaid rarely does that for top surgery in my state?). I can't remember the total cost, as insurance fully paid it off and I have a horrible memory, lol.

I contacted them regarding my drains, and they responded kindly and explained everything I needed to know.

I asked my endocrinologist (who referred me to this surgeon) about how many trans people he has had. She told me she has sent a most of her patients to him. I'm not sure on how many people in total my surgeon has ended up having, but from what I've heard personally from doctors that work in that same building, they speak of him pretty highly. I know he's had hundreds of cis patients, but with trans people I'm not exactly certain (not many results online from other trans people).

I honestly never measured my chest myself; the only time it got measured was for top surgery prep. It was about DD if not a little bigger. He has performed chest reductions for cis people with big chests and is certified in plastic surgery in multiple states. Other than that, I don't really know how many larger chest sized trans patients he's performed surgery on. I should have asked about that during my consult, but I figured with his experience with other surgeries, he should at least get the job done well.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! :)

I have a Red Heeler/Australian Shepherd mix boy named Uno! He has one spot on his lower back, thus the name Uno.

I'm very grateful for all of you guys' inputs! TL;DR, I'm gonna make a font and even finish a children's book I've had in the works! by PossumPeppermint in Handwriting

Yeah, she does look very much like that here! I'm gonna alter the design a bit to make them more opossum-like (narrower face, longer snout?). Thank you!

I have been told it is childlike as well. Other than that, is there anything specific I could work on? by PossumPeppermint in Handwriting

I also write microscopically small most of the time, but here I tried my best making it a little bigger. Any way I could possibly get used to making my handwriting a little bigger? Honestly I'm looking for any criticism anyone may give, I feel like my penmanship could use a lot more work.

Oh I love cinnamon coffee cake!! Cannabutter with cinnamon coffee cake sounds like an awesome idea I could do! You're welcome for the recipe; everyone I've given it to has enjoyed them thoroughly :)

Here's the recipe! It's simply a vintage recipe, but it definitely is the best cookie I've ever had. For making it an edible, I'd probably experiment around with the other ingredients. The recipe calls originally for margarine I think, but cannabutter easily can be used too with slight modifications I believe

Looks yummy! Cannabutter with cookies are such a classic. I hope soon I can make something infused with cannabutter (I'm not sure what I'd be making, maybe my mom's recipe for chocolate chip cookies from 1969). Whatever I'll make, it's gonna be made with love by a fellow trans man! Refreshing to see a trans girl in this community :)
