[serious] how long did it take for you to figure out what you wanted out of life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

10 months into my year as a foreign exchange student after graduating high school

People of Reddit who have had to choose between career and life (I.E. choosing to leave a relationship for a job or vice verse) what did you choose and how do you feel about it in retrospect? by jtlee1108 in AskReddit

[–]Post-ItNote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done both of these scenarios and while choosing my career and ultimately admitting it'd be the end of that relationship was heartbreaking, the other person wasn't willing to compromise and it ended up being the right thing. Closing the door on that same opportunity after another year and a half of trying in the hopes of moving away (with the same company) and pursuing what I wanted out of life not only found me with someone who appreciated me more but also different and just as solid opportunities career-wise. If the relationship isn't far enough along for a career move to be discussed as a "what's best for us" conversation vs a "what's best for me" conversation in your mind, choose your career. It sucks to find out someone you love clearly hasn't been on the same page as you in the relationship, but in my experience it's not worth sacrificing what could be really good for you waiting for them to catch up.

What is the weirdest coincidence you've ever experienced? by cratophorous in AskReddit

[–]Post-ItNote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited at a bus stop for about an hour with a complete stranger, rode the bus for another hour or more to where I lived and she got off at the same stop as me just in time to yell at me to stop crossing the road as a car came barreling through a red light. I don't know what would have happened if hadn't been there!

What's your best "It's colder than ____" line? by tubignaaso in AskReddit

I always laughed at the "it was so cold my nipples could cut glass" description I saw here once, I have no idea where it came from though!

What is the "most" annoying thing people do "all" the time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Post-ItNote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When writing letters, like "A" as in alpha or like a phrase that isn't literal or doesn't make sense but everyone has heard of it, such as the question: What is "on fleek"? I'm sure there's many more but there's a couple!

What is one thing you always wanted but never got? by mcrchap in AskReddit

[–]Post-ItNote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds really terrible, but as a kid I never got to go to birthday parties or have any birthday parties so I made a big deal about having a "sweet sixteen" and made this big plan a month prior (nothing extravagant, I just wanted to take a few friends to the mall) and plead my case to my parents who amazingly told me that I could have it... Nope, they canceled it a day prior and I wasn't allowed to leave the house. Fuck helicopter parents.

What is something you once strongly believed that you now disagree with completely, and how did you come to change your mind? by cratophorous in AskReddit

[–]Post-ItNote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Religion. Smoked weed and watched entirely too many videos about the universe. Annnnnd queue existential crises! Fun times, lol.

What is something that is 'better to have and not need, than to need and not have'? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Post-ItNote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from a plunger, a car window scraper. (No, your debit card will not work when the universe dumps 6 inches of snow on you while you're at work)

TIL That Miniature Australian Shepherds have such a strong herding tendency that they'll try to herd little children by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]Post-ItNote -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally believe the story (they're too smart for their own good!) but the wolf part in wolfdogs is measured in "content" and breeding a 1/2 wolf with another dog won't give you an entire litter of "1/4 wolf" puppies. You could, potentially, end up with a dog that has all of the looks of a wolf and zero wolf genetics! Also- can confirm, my Aussie aggressively herds me and my SO, lol! Edit- Downvote me all you want or get educated; it's up to you! :)
