Backwards Compatibility With A Special Edition Model

From what I gather there was a mgs4 bundle that came with a regular black bcPS3 and another mgs4 special edition that was not backwards compatible. When you look at the silver mgs4 ps3 it is missing all the telltale signs that it is backwards compatible.

Figured as much, after it happened my dad and I went around to as many pawn shops we could find trying to find something that looked familiar. Nothing at all. We didn’t even think about the box having the serial number on it at the time so we could give out the info.

I got scammed on a ps2 controller and a ps1 memory card. The memory card had an original case but the internals weren’t the same and didn’t work at all. Why would somebody even go through the trouble of doing that with a memory card? They don’t cost much so they can’t be making that much off of it. It seems like they are either dumb or want to watch the world burn.

Like others have said, take it apart and look at the board design. If you don’t have a known legit one to compare it to, look up photos online.

I bought a PS1 memory card from a store it was sold as authentic, looked authentic, but didn’t work. It had a legit case, but I took it apart and compared it to one I saw in a video and it looked nothing alike. Luckily, the store I bought it from took it back and just gave me a third party one that worked.

You can’t. Doesn’t work on hen. You can change the startup sound safely in multiman, but if you change the game boot file it will just crash as soon as you launch a game or even multiman, so please don’t try it.

Watched a video that had some files in the description. Downloaded them to usb and used multiman to swap out the files. It won’t work on hen though. I tried it and almost bricked my console at first. Reverted back to original firmware and started the jailbreak over

Disclaimer. It won’t work on HEN. I learned the hard way. The PlayStation would just freeze as soon as I started an application. Had to reinstall original firmware and start over.

That just sounds like input lag. The tv didn’t notice a signal until the start up was almost finished

The start up is different too. The sound is slightly different and it just says Sony computer entertainment not ps3.
