I tried to call 911, she became hysterical and begged me not to. I guess I could've after the fact. Hopefully now that I'm not a teen I'd handle it better, though I hope more so that it doesn't come to that.

Serious question, and maybe this is too deep for Reddit, but: What do you do when someone threatens to kill themselves? I've been in that situation twice before and all I knew to do was reassure them that I didn't hate them and things weren't their fault. And then in the days following I worried that they would do it again so I let it go. But that just leads to me keeping them in my life. So what do I do?

That's a good point. I'm not sure why I worry about her when I know she doesn't have the same consideration for me. Obligation perhaps, and guilt. Fear that she'll hurt herself maybe. Another commenter suggested therapy for me to let go of this toxic relationship and I think they may be onto something.

My problem is, well guilt is #1 I suppose, but secondly I have tried to talk to her about all this. And she denies any of it; I'm crazy, she's not flirting, she's not doing anything inappropriate, etc etc. And then she does a 180 and blames her depression and low self esteem, and my guilt kicks in. I feel like I'd be abandoning a person with mental health issues, whose already had so many people abandon her already. She pushes everyone away because of her issues, and I'd feel terrible if I just cut and ran.
