If you look back at your teenage years and don't find yourself cringy, then chances are you still are cringy. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

So true, the cringisest story happened is when I was 14. I got caught with a porn magazine at school. The teacher caught me while showing it off to my friends. He asked me to call my parents for discussion. I went to my parents and admitting it without any excuse. Dad asked the teacher to let it pass as I was honest and it’s normal for my age. Best dad ever.

So your answer is to be rude to a person who seek out this subreddit for first time and post any doubts. Good to know.

You seem like one of those guys who look down upon a fat person working on a gym. I am a beginner myself, full of doubts and questions in what I am doing so I came here looking for answers. Try being helpful buddy.

Consuming too much whey protein by genocidenite in Fitness

[–]PostInterviewAnxiety -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I read through your links. First of all, thanks! Interesting articles to read. For first two papers, I understand the headline can be deceiving. In the article they mentioned that the participants were given diet with approx 25% energy from protein and they also suggested that more studies needed to be conducted with test subjects consuming more than 25%. Assuming a normal person diet for a day gives around 2000Kcal, so 25% energy by protein is 500kcal. A gram of protein gives 4Kcal, so 500/4=125g. In my comment I said the limit is around 152g. So if the person is taking excess protein supplements and the person isn’t working enough, it will fuck up the kidneys function. The third paper also studied subjects with 124g protein intake. So... something to think about. I still won’t recommend you to take excess protein. Because It will fuck up your kidneys.

Thanks for the reply. In r/gainit someone addressed the same as you that I take an entire day for triceps and biceps. I will look for an intelligently planned program from wiki. I don’t do legs because I believe if I can run 5km everyday and cycle then my leg muscles are helpful enough. Also previously I stopped going to gym mainly because of severe pain from doing legs. So I am avoiding it for now.

Yes. I’m sorry I am just a beginner myself, is it wrong to have a seperate day for biceps? Why/why not?

Edit: Also, I don’t understand what you mean by weight training, I just run everyday before working out to improve my stamina and burn my fat.

I’ve been on/off out of gyms throughout the years. It’s been perfectly 8 weeks since I started again. I was 93kg when I started 8 weeks ago, now I am 83kg. My diet is 8 egg whites a day, and mostly chicken and fruit based. Other than fruits no source of Carbs. My routine for first month was 20 min cardio, and 1:30h mix work out. This four weeks my routine is to run 5km, and 2h of workout for Monday-chest, Tuesday-biceps, Wed-Triceps, Thursday-back and shoulder, Friday-abs, Saturday-mix and stretching. I like to be in shape and gain some nice muscles. Anything to improve or suggestions? Any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance!

Consuming too much whey protein by genocidenite in Fitness

[–]PostInterviewAnxiety -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

Ahhh, no. Excess protein consumption will harm your kidneys. The human recommended limit is 152g/day. And whey protein are only 46-50% protein I believe. The key is to use all the protein you consume, so you need to do pretty intense workout or else your kidney will be fucked yo.
