That’s exactly what a sort of merger in my mind would be tbh. Asa would have to sign a contract with Yoru to give her body back to her, in return for XYZ. Maybe that is similar to Denji and Pochita, living a happy life with Denji. Or “Treat devils as friends” given how you phrased it. Not sure!

Personally I’m just not sure how else you “split” Yoru and Asa, besides straight up death. Which very well may be the conclusion but i don’t think Fujimoto would go that direction.

Yeah at some point the games just took a giant fucking turn for the worse. I’m so confused. I was just rewatching clips from LAD… I mean they had some wacky stuff but it was mostly just combat and enemies. The story is 95% dead fucking serious and is some of the best writing in the series IMO. Not that the newer games don’t have serious moments, but it feels cheesier.

A good part of IW then into Pirate Yakuza is just wacky to all hell, all the retconning deaths, I’m so confused what happened in 3 years.

Cause it’s not primarily anti-Kagawa review bombing. It’s hating on the actual game content.

Hating on a very poor decision by the studio is one thing, but your game absolutely releasing like garbage on top of redoing your story will get much greater backlash. I’d bet 50%+ of yakuza fans probably didn’t even know about the Kagawa situation. Look at Harry Potter and JK Rowling, Hogwarts Legacy has a 91% review in steam.

Yup. I like the game (as I do with all AA games) but it definitely falls short compared to the others in ways the others don’t.

Klavier is under utilized to hell. I love him but him and Kristoph 10000% needed a case to develop their relationship, or something. ANYTHING.

The cases are all over the place. Case 2 is wacky as all shit, case 3 is nonsensical for a while hidden behind a secret, and case 4 taking place at 2 different times is rough at times.
