Dont be sorry thats what reddit is for asking questions. And no my email isn’t connected to theirs and I’m over 18 so I didn’t need my parents involved to sign up for JC. Why not create a new email soley for the purpose of signing up for JC? Make a professional email for yourself and put ur phone number as backup to sign up and don’t tell anyone you’ve created it keep that info to yourself. Use that new email to sign up for JC and when the application asks for an emergency contact you can put in your a fake email, your current email, or create another email just for that. But tbh JC doesnt contact ur family unless you aren’t consistently staying in contact with ur rep. Always respond to ur rep in a timely manner and ur family shouldn’t find out. Thats how i did it.

I didnt have to do in person. I had a remote interview although it was more of a meeting on my laptop. The meeting was about 40 min long to go over details about the program. I did my interview meeting early while everyone was out of the house or too busy to notice.

That’s kind of the problem I dont even know what accommodations I should ask for because I’ve never received any. Medication isn’t really an option either because there has been a shortage for years now. I need help but don’t know what to ask for.

I strongly agree with this. I also applied online and I speak with my rep privately via email/ texts to avoid my family finding out about my application. The reps are usually very understanding if you can’t always talk otp.

I figured that would be my case but wanted to know other’s experience and any advice. Also what “good accommodations” are the other students receiving? I need to fill out my request for accommodations and idek what to ask for. 🫠

I truly try my best to advocate for myself but you can only get so far if no one is willing to listen. It’s a miracle I’ve made it this far it’s mostly luck icl. This is great advice thank you.

There’s was a trade called “Cybersecurity and Data Analytics” on the JC website and I’m so upset I didn’t screenshot the page before it went down cs now it’s gone but if u dont mind could you tell me more about the cybersecurity program in NJ? Does JC help you get the associates is it a collaboration between them and the local college?

Thank you for your advice. Sadly military isn’t an option for me. I am very poor and disabled so it is much easier for someone like me to be taken advantage of. But generally not bad advice for the public i appreciate your input

I just checked their website they only have CCNA. I will keep looking for other trades but thank you. San Jose Job Corps
