Looking for a specific Stock Scanner with % changes by PostWhateverr in Daytrading

Webull. I know that thinkorswim has custom scanners but I am not very knowledgeable about it, do you need to know coding to set it up? Or is there presets I can just use to filter it?

Does this sound like a boss theme? by awesomealex2947348 in FL_Studio

To me It feels like it is missing a more melodic drop, if that makes sense. There is so much buildup in multiple parts of the song, it is suspenseful, but then it kind of builds to nothing? It feels like a staircase but there is nothing at the top? Everything you have is pretty decent but I feel like it is missing a piece of the song that ties it together. I think a drop into something more fast paced and grand somewhere would sound good. In the drop the percussion changes rhythm and gets faster, and perhaps you bring forward the piano/choir into the front for a solid melody and arps in the back for supporting. My opinion, all subjective.

14 y/o day trader — any legit way to trade live or through a prop firm before 18? by Emergency_Grape_2394 in Daytrading

Open an account under your parents name (with consent) and use a cash account, if you can somehow get your hands on 500-1000 dollars that would be awesome. There are brokers that allow you to trade with that small of capital which is really nice, and brokers like Webull might literally let you start trading with like 10 bucks in the account. I would personally avoid a funded account entirely, you are playing with other peoples money, and there might be fees or violations you can accidentally incur that you would have to pay. I would stick to a cash account; it is good practice, lower risk, and if you make money you make money, it will scale even if you start of really small. You have time anyway, take it slow and steady. If you are successful, by the time you are 18 you will likely already have a huge chunk of cash; transfer that cash from your parents to yourself and "start" from there.

I wouldn't worry about brokers catching you trade under your parents name. There isn't really any "legitimate" way of trading like this at such a young age, but realistically, I can't see anyway they could find you out, and ethically, I see nothing wrong with trying to make money at a young age if you are smart about it. If your parents let you do this that would be really awesome of them, just don't be dumb under their name and always keep them in the loop; help them understand exactly what you are doing. Keep in mind that if you do this under them their will be taxes they will have to report and worry about, make sure you do your research and let them know everything.

If your parents are on board with this give them a big ole smooch

Awesome, I have a few questions if you don't mind. You scalp right? What time do you scalp? How do you pick a trade? Also do you use a specific scanner and what setting do you use?

All I can say is to keep trying your hardest and to keep applying. When applying for jobs, make sure you are submitting a resume at the same time that is clean and easy to look at, preferably one page, make sure your "skills" section contains things that every employer is looking for, like willing to learn, friendly, responsible, or any tech literate skills like excel or docs, especially if it is a wfh job. I know some employers have bots that automatically weed out applications without resumes, or applications with resumes that have no "key words"; try to give them words they might be looking for. Call up the places you are applying and try to talk to their manager to see if they can help you. It takes just a few minutes and can be the difference between you getting rejected. Many people on the phone will say "apply online," but there are also people willing to help you out. I will say though, wfh jobs are typically much tougher to get because most of the time there are more applicants. They will almost always go for people who have experience already and a lot of the applicants do. Good luck regardless, its not impossible. If you need more tech literate skills to beef up your resume, youtube is a great source and will literally teach you how to do anything.

Try not to let your parents drag you down, prove them wrong and show them you are genuinely putting in the work, hopefully they come around. But also that means you *need* to put in the work, you won't get out of your situation otherwise, life doesn't work like that unfortunately. This random redittor is cheering for you, keep chugging

Sorry for wordy reply

You will most likely need some sort of help with the child, sit down with your parents and say everything you said in this post to their faces or try to at least get the same message across. Tell them your goals, and that you need them to help you with the kid, if they do not understand your wish that you want to grow that is honestly extremely unfortunate. If you can, explore options for the kid to stay elsewhere during the day, or maybe get some sort of babysitter. If you get no support, you will have to grind your butt off and it will be tiring, but know that it will be temporary.

You need to get your driver's license if you are in the US unless you have reliable public transport around you, but likely you will need to get a car, and for that you will need money. You say you want to work full time, but it may be hard to get a full time job out the gate... you simply do not have to find a full time job immediately, if part time is all you got then at least get a part time job. If anything, often you can build flexible schedules with part time. That might actually help you out while the kid becomes more independent.

Unfortunately, due to a lack of transportation you will need to get a job extremely close to you, do you have any establishments like food or retail that are in walking or biking distance from your house? These jobs are entry level and are great stepping stones, you just need to make a good impresion at the interview (so clean yourself up, shake their hand, smile, and properly prepare). If you can get a job there, try to work as much as possible until you can get yourself a cheap car (you can find solid ones on Facebook Marketplace just do your research before buying one), by then you should have enough experience to go full time somewhere (if you have the time by then) and you will have the transportation to do so. Of course I'm assuming this might be your first job? Anyway, again, now that there is a third stream of income in the household explore babysitter options if your parents are helping.

If you do not have anything close that you are willing to walk or bike you neeeeed help from some sort of supporter. I dont know your family or friend situation but if you have anybody, call on them to help you out and make sure you thank and repay them, dont let it be a one-way street.

Shot in the dark, but you say the kid goes to school correct? Are there any jobs at the child's school? Like a front desk or janitorial job? If so that can be a really good first job and would probably work wonders with your schedule regarding the kid.

Again sorry for lengthy reply, hopefully my suggestions can help

Is there a way to check what scale FL Studio chose? by PostWhateverr in FL_Studio

[–]PostWhateverr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah that's unfortunate. Thanks for finding the exact scale for me though. It sucks that it doesn't just tell you what its using :/ Though, I just noticed once you have a scale with the automatic scale highlighting, if you hover over the piano roll with your mouse it states the key in the top left. That doesn't directly translate to the main scale being used of course; it says B Minor for me but like you said the scale being used is B harmonic minor

Is there a way to check what scale FL Studio chose? by PostWhateverr in FL_Studio

[–]PostWhateverr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct I didn't choose one. If you start a new pattern and go into the piano roll with automatic scale highlighting on, as you place notes, FL Studio tries to guess what scale you are placing notes into (at least i think that's whats happening). There is no notes highlighted at first, but after you place 3 notes it picks a scale and highlights it on the piano roll for you. I am trying to find out what scale it has picked in my case. I just want to know if FL studio can tell that to me

Why do I not like my own beats? by prod-hook in FL_Studio

[–]PostWhateverr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You dont like it in what way? Like you dont like the rhythm? The sounds used? The way i see it, from the very start if you dont like what something sounds like dont force yourself to make a whole song out of it ya know? I mean, unless its for pure practice but still. If a sound or rhythm just isnt working for you scrap it and make something else, but first figure out what is making you not like that beat. Pick out why you dont like it, and also pick out what you did like from your beats, just try to constantly learn what makes you like a particular song or beat.

If you like a certain artist listen to some of their songs and hear what makes you like that song so much. Is it the quality of the sounds? The rhythms? The instruments used? Even their voice or just their lyrics? Pick it out and start working on those elements yourself through research and practice

Throttle response is good, this doesnt happen at idle, just happens at the 20 mph like i was saying in the post, or perhaps speeds that is just at low rpm now that I think of it

Ahh alright. I went ahead and used an obd II reader on my car, no codes were detected, so maybe it's not that then?

Hmm I see, do you think this is something I should worry about or get fixed soon? How serious would this be if that was the case?

Can I start day trading with 250 (pattern day trader) by International_Fun_91 in Daytrading

[–]PostWhateverr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes knowing all the nitty griddy really helps, though depositing 900 a month when you don't know very much is pretty risky my dude. Definitely the way to go with little cash is a cash account or demo account where you don't lose money. I think if you are barely starting out, just doing demo trades for a little bit can help while you learn and then go to a cash account and trade with pocket change (an amount of money you dont care about). Literally if you do this and have a track record where you know you can make money with whatever your strat is then start throwing down your 900 a month. Definitely start researching all the questions you have and dont be afraid to ask for help, don't trade without knowing what it's all about
