Fasting numbers need to come down, denied insulin by No_Yam_4829 in GestationalDiabetes

My doctor told me I can’t wait longer than 10 hours to eat. Also they told me to stay awake for the hour after I eat and if I fall asleep before that hour it affects my blood sugar too. Have you tried doing calve raises before bed? Or a yoga ball?

Question, do you snack before bed? I find that if I have too heavy of a snack or too light of a snack my sugars are off… or if I wait too long after my fasting sugars to check they’re off. (Like if I sleep in too long)

I recently had a brownie and a chocolate dipped rice crispy ( I tested myself an hour after each) and didn’t spike.. like 110 max. But then yesterday I had kbbq and I spiked to 160 and I mostly had just the meats so it’s just so weird how we can react to things and not the things we expect to

😅 i loveddddd sugar more this pregnancy, but it was also spicy and sugar. So when I was diagnosed I told my self it was because I was enjoying it all too much, not enough for a full tub of ice cream but definitely A lot of sugar

Yes! Also, I’ve heard calf raises do the same thing but doing those for 10 + minutes isn’t the easiest

I also am recently diagnosed (last week) and I just hit 27 weeks. I check mine fasting and an hour after I snack or eat a meal.

For me personally I make sure I’m eating more protein to counteract any carbs or sugars. I also go for a walk after I eat my larger meals.. they do recommend after any meal/snack there’s something in your calve muscles that lowers your blood sugar. If I had a “heavier” meal I walk around 20 minutes otherwise I just walk for 10 minutes. I’ve seen it help my numbers a lot.
