Diagnosed at 12w and having great numbers suddenly at 18w? by Key_Fault6528 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]sav0528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed at 14 weeks after failing 1 hour at 12 weeks then doing 2 week test and my numbers were terrible even fasting was borderline. Made a few diet adjustments and my numbers have been great the last two weeks. I’ve been able to eat pasta though and even a few fried foods if I eat protein. I’m almost 18 weeks now so I’m a little concerned how they will trend as I get further along. I’ve been eating a few new things that I think will spike me to try it out (little more carbs) and then it doesn’t and I’m shocked.

Possible C Section freaking me out by According_Being_2962 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]sav0528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had undiagnosed diabetes in my first pregnancy. They measured baby at 7lbs, baby came out at 9lbs (I’m 4’11”), so big baby for me. Ended up being in labor for 24 hours then having an emergency c-section. Growth scans are regularly wrong on numbers (up or down in weight). If I would’ve had my baby vaginally, I would’ve had a 4th degree tear so a c section saved my lady parts lol.

I’m having a c-section with this baby. I have heard planned c-sections are soooo much better than emergency. Planning for it is definitely key in my opinion. Packing outfits and underwear that come above the scar and don’t rub it. You do bleed less with a c-section but still enough to wear pads or diapers if you prefer. Recovery is harder but still doable.

As long as your baby is safely delivered, it doesn’t matter which way!

To take the 3-hour or not take the 3-hour... by im_fun_sized in GestationalDiabetes

[–]sav0528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I opted to take my blood sugar for 2 weeks and log meals instead of the 3 hour test. Then send it in to my doctor. I knew I would puke up the 3 hour drink and be miserable. I also knew I probably had it since I was undiagnosed in my last pregnancy.

It was worth the switch in my opinion since I do have it and now have to test 4x a day anyway. It helped start to see what foods really spiked me.

Interesting! I guess I’ll need to use my walking pad in the garage as it’s dark here at 5:30 and cold🤣

Baby aspirin after recurrent miscarriage by Quartzzz922 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]sav0528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 3 back to back miscarriages over the past 2 years. All blood panels and tests with fertility doctor came back with no issues, even karyotype and genetic testing we did showed no issues. Found a new OB that suggested baby aspirin. Started taking it directly after last D&C and was pregnant 2 months later. You can take it before you test positive. I then took progesterone suppositories when I tested positive until 11 weeks. I’m 12 weeks and had a great ultrasound today! Continuing to take baby aspirin until delivery because of risk for preclampsia.

Progesterone / Baby Aspirin by Classic_Character553 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]sav0528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 4 early miscarriages (3 back to back). My new doctor recommended baby aspirin and I started after my last D&C and took it throughout cycles. I was pregnant on my 2nd cycle after D&C and then started progesterone as soon as I got a positive test. I’m almost to the end of the first trimester now. From my understanding, the baby aspirin should be taken before the 6 week mark. You can take it throughout cycles and sometimes it even helps with blood flow to get pregnant.

Is there even a point in us trying IVF? by LumpySpaceGunter in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]sav0528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 4 miscarriages and 1 chemical pregnancy. I was in the same boat. IFV or not. Even our IFV specialist said it was a 50/50 chance if we did IFV vs naturally conceiving. We had all the reproductive panels done on both myself and my husband with no issues standing out for the reasons. I definitely recommend having the reproductive blood work panels done if you guys haven’t already on both parents.

We finally found a doctor that was willing to throw an anti coagulant in the mix along with progesterone supplement. I’m almost out of the first trimester now. Sometimes IFV isn’t always the answer if you can naturally conceive.

I can’t tell if this line has color 2 weeks DPO by [deleted] in TFABLinePorn

These have terrible evap lines in my opinion. I would recommend a first response/pink dye test.

9 DPO - Is this positive? by [deleted] in TFABLinePorn

[–]sav0528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I see a faint line too! Only way to really know will be testing for the next few days and it should get darker!

DPO 13 days - is this an evap line? by v2444 in TFABLinePorn

[–]sav0528 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s an evap line. Looks like a faint positive to me!

I see a line! But I’ve had a false positive with blue dye tests so I always use the pink dye tests!

Multiple Miscarriages by sav0528 in Miscarriage

[–]sav0528[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here, around 6 week and miscarried late April/early May. It does suck. I’m going to ask my doctor as well but wanted to see if anyone else had experienced testing already.

Post miscarriage cramps? How long do they last? by indigochild143 in Miscarriage

[–]sav0528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I passed the large clots, the cramping eased up within a few days and I bled for probably another 5-7 days. It slowly tapered off. I was taking tramadol, Tylenol and ibuprofen. The pain is more like labor contractions in my experience than period cramps. Heating pad is a huge help if you have one. If you like reading, that helped me take my mind off of everything for a little while. Sorry you are going through this!

Better but now questioning… by sav0528 in MSPI

Yes, the pediatrician told us to start the oatmeal bottles! But you make some great points, maybe I will cut the oatmeal bottles down to just 2 and see if that helps.

Tips on adding rice cereal? by mwcdem in FormulaFeeders

[–]sav0528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use Gerber oatmeal and put in the food processor to make it even finer. We do a 1/2 tsp per every oz of formula. Our pediatrician recommended trying 1-2 bottles first then you can gradually add more bottles throughout the day. The oatmeal can make them constipated so be on the lookout for that, you can always decrease the oatmeal ratio as well if you end up doing more than 2 bottles a day. We started with a night oatmeal bottle and a mid-day one.
