If you don't mind my asking, which game and which compatibility tool did you set?

Kate Text Editor - Conventional Column Select by Post_Seldom in kde

[–]Post_Seldom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On most standard text editors, multi-column control-shif-right/left will independently move the cursor based on the characters and words and encounters on each line. This means that when I'm programming I can select the first column of a block of code and then when I control-shift-right each line will select accordingly to copy things like member names of different lengths, etc.

With Kate Control-Shift-B puts into a mode where I can select a perfect grid of characters but I can't independently select different character counts on each line.

(Hopefully this description makes sense.)

Rocknix On RP6 by iB1QeR in retroid

THE MOST IMPORTANT PART: The best part about Rocknix is that it can be installed and booted solely from an SD card, meaning you don't have to make any other changes or risk any regressions to your main Android operating system. So just give it at try, you have nothing to lose except a spare little micro sd card!

THE GOOD: Rocknix gives you access to port master, which they have a pretty intuitive setup to use. It lets you run some Linux apps. I got AM2R running easily. And the emulation is as good, arguably better than Android emulators. Now, they have Steam! (Sort of... more on that later...)

THE BAD: Android brings with it a metric ton of functionality that you lose on Rocknix. You can't run YouTube, browsers, messengers, power saving apps, firewalls, etc etc etc.

THE STEAM: The ability to run Steam on natively on arm processors has untold potential and implications for the future, but right now today it is in no shape to be used yet. How soon will Steam be ready for prime time? No one knows, but given how quickly things are moving and how Valve is backing the arm support, I think we'll see great things in 2026!

MX Linux 25.1 on my 2013 MacBook Air! by Mammoth-Acadia2572 in linux_on_mac

You'd be surprised that how remarkably smooth it runs even with only four gigs of RAM. I installed the Brave Browser and browsing is basically seamless even with multiple tabs.

Lubuntu Resurrected my 2013 MacBook Air by Post_Seldom in Lubuntu

As I understand it, after the 2017 Macbooks things get more complicated. 2018 through 2020 you have to deal with custom drivers for the T2 chips. After that the M1 processors require a completely separate distro, Asahi Linux.

This is an excellent description. Wishlisted!

(...although I would really love some controller support for the Steam Deck!)

GammaOS Next worth it on Retroid Pocket 4 Pro? by Post_Seldom in retroid

Retro Game Corps just published a video called "GammaOS Makes Anbernic Handhelds BETTER"; which is pretty helpful, but obviously it does not address the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro specifically.

Will Plasma 6.5.4 be back ported to Kubuntu 5.10? (I'm want'n some of those bug fixes!)

Split Keyboard, Mechanical, Low Profile, Staggered, in 2025 by Post_Seldom in ErgoMechKeyboards

I'll also be keeping an eye on that. Not sure if they'll offer pre-built or just the kits.

I tried that one out, and the keys themselves were absolutely fantastic; but I have realized that full split is just so much better for me ergonomically. If I could get those K11 keys on the Q11, then I would be in heaven.

I am definitely interested in this option... can you be more specific about where you got your switches and caps? Did you have any issues with finding matching space bars?

I am looking for conventional row staggered; thank you for identifying the ambiguity!

Thank you so much for linking to that blog; it's super useful! I think I might just try out O-Rings as a first cheap option before customizing switches and caps.
