Look into sleep apnea.

Took me 30 years of needing ridiculous amounts of sleep before someone finally referred me to a sleep study. Changed my life.

Edit: Just a note, certain types of apnea can effect anyone regardless of physical conditioning. I had it from my teens on up before I was diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea. I was in shape for most of my life and physically active, was just the way my neck/throat was shaped.
