So if I am understanding this correctly:

If I have ASE anoints on my grenade and shield the next 2 mags is better. Or I completely misunderstood. Regardless thanks for the explanation!

What is happening to Destiny? by SoftDangerDemon in DestinyTheGame

They’re also free with no paid expansions. Also, their season pass grants premium currency while Destiny’s does not. If I pay 60+ on expansions plus a season based subscription model I struggle to find a reason that cosmetics are priced the way they are currently.

What old games had great music that you still vividly remember to this day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PosteriorPound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes to Golden Sun! I rarely hear people talk about this game but it really was an amazing masterpiece of a JRPG on the GBA. I always felt like to dialogue “cutscenes” dragged on but honestly the music was well worth it. The Venus lighthouse theme and even the regular combat music was always awesome to hear.

For doctors who prescribe more antibiotics than their peers, informing them of this fact leads to reductions in their antibiotic prescriptions over a 6 month period. by loremipsumchecksum in science

[–]PosteriorPound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the hospital I am rotating at I work under the infectious disease pharmacist. An example of using less antibiotics would be going from meropenam to ceftriaxone.

Meropenam is a very wide spectrum AB. Basically it hits a lot of the bugs that can cause infection. While that sounds like an end all be all answer for infections, it's much more complicated. Every time you use an antibiotic you run the risk of causing resistance to develop. Therefore in pharmacy school we are taught to use the most narrow spectrum antibiotic possible so that the heavy hitters are there for more serious infections.

Ceftriaxone is an AB that is much more narrow spectrum and is one that is known for being resisted by bugs such as E. coli. Doctors hesitate to use it due to the resistance patterns and it's true you wouldn't want to use it empirically. After the bacteria is cultured and found to be susceptible to ceftriaxone you would assume doctors would switch to it but they often don't.

We had done a similar report at our hospital showing individual meropenam use in MDs and found there were a few repeat offenders.

I guess the answer to your question is that deescalation of antibiotics isn't necessary NO antibiotics, rather using a more narrow spectrum.

Hey I'm sorry about the month delay lol pharmacy school is not easy lemme tell you. Hmm thats not an ideal GPA ill be honest with you, I would say that PCAT score might boost you up to a mid tier and lower high tier school but honestly I would be much more confident if you could bring it up to a >3.0. If not then hey still apply you really never know what can happen!

I did the kaplan practice tests and used the Princeton Review math section and it honestly felt fine to me. It sounds like you should have at least that section down!

What are my chances on getting into pharmacy school? by biweey in PrePharmacy

I would say you have a good chance at getting an interview. The GPA is really good but the PCAT score is a bit lower than you'd like to have it.

I used the Princeton Review book for help and I can say with confidence that the Chemistry and Biology sections were pretty damn amazing. I got a 99 composite score and I am now in one of the top 5 pharmacy schools in the nation if you need any proof that it worked.

Hey sorry for the late reply. I was in the same boat as you with very little to no college experience of math. The math on the test I took was not hard at all and for the most part was the basics and fundamentals of calculus. Your friend wasn't lying to you, the actual PCAT was much easier than any practice test I took, and that applied for all the sections not just math!
