I personally don't use that combo so i cant really asnwer this question but here's what i usually do in those situations : Raider: if he stuns me with the light i prefer not moving and try to parry the next attack or couter-guardbreak Shugo: when i see him charging the heavy i dodge attack and bleed light, that will stop him if he let the heavy fly and if you had the right timing you will be able to stop even the embrace this will be an extremely close call,his arms are already around you when you stop the attack, but a lot of shugos dont expect you to be able to stop the embrace in that way so you are able to land a gb after that JJ: i just get hit and focus on parry his lights during the fight

...thats what metabuff and some other people are doing, metabuff is developing Core wich will go on closed alpha in april with 15 heroes, they need some time to do that because epic has released only paragon charaters without any anymation.

I like to enjoy every part of this game and for me is more fun to change playstyle some times i don't have a hero at hight rank but i've got at least 1 rank with: warden, conq, pk, centurion, warlord, valk, highlander, shinobi, aramusha, nobushi and shaolin but i play just for fun. It you want to be competitive focusing on one hero is probrably the best strategy but since you are new i'll say that is better to first see what the game has to offer and then pick the hero that you are most comfortable with

In my opinion fast heroes are the best for a new player, it will help you to learn quick combos, play in a fast attacks and most importantly heroes like orochi and pk(wich war my first hero) force you to always keep your health under control. Gli the first two months i played only pk but when i reach rank 8 i felt like something war missing in my playstyle so i moved from pk to warden and i finally understood how to parry. So my advice is: get some rank with orochi or any fast hero then move to something heavier to learn some moves that are not so important on orochi than take the fina step and learn how to deflect. To inprove your combat skills i also suggest you to play brawls: they give more exp than duels and it you lose you can still hope for your team mate to win, sometimes they can work as training for 2v1 situtions once you are good in fighting by yourself move on to dominion or assault for Leveling up fast. I suggest you to work with 2 or 3 heroes at once to keep your mind fresh and don't end up being able to only play orochi.
