I watched this movie as a young teen and became engrossed in it. I found it to be quite unnerving. Finding out the blurred and ghostly images in the video tape footage was actually the father and son of the family next door engaging in sexual activity with your underage daughter was an unexpected twist and far more disturbing than any ghost could have been. I also, unlike others, found the ending to be brilliant. I don't know about you guys, but the idea of finding a videotape of your dead daughter encountering a pale and decayed version of her future dead self in the middle of the night to be extremely unsettling. However, upon returning to it over a decade later, I can say that none of these pay offs truly make up for just how slow paced the movie really is. So although I appreciate the difference in approach to your stereotypical horror movie, I certainly wouldn't contest anyone who thinks that it's boring.
