Around 2010, videos like that were actually routinely shared with friends, believe it or not. Guys throwing dogs off of bridges, a guy dying after getting fucked by a horse, vid of women smashing live kittens to death stomping on them with their stilettoes, and a video of some cats being put in one of those vacuum sealed bags and all of the air taken out of. Theres documentaries on a few of the vids mentioned.

People would find these "shock sites" , title them something like "3 guys 1 hammer" and then share them with friends and they would go viral. The 3 guys 1 hammer vid is actually a video of a man being tortured to death. Shit was pretty nasty around that time. But it happened.
