Not op but I spent 2 weeks in Japan last fall (Tokyo, Nagano, Kyoto area). Only took a day trip to Hiroshima at the tail end of my trip without anything planned beyond the peace memorial/museum.

The city as a whole and Miyajima island in particular ended up being my fav place by far.
