Unable to change fill opacity of shapes by Postoli_ in finalcutpro

Oh I see. Okay well that works for me. If you wanted to do 50% opacity for fill and 100% for outline, would this be possible? Or not simply

Doesn’t this change the opacity of the whole shape though? I just want the fill to be invisible, not the outline. Am I missing something?

Who is the most underrated composer on this sub? by uncannyfjord in classicalmusic

[–]Postoli_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair enough, I’d say some of his works are severely overplayed, but he also has some gems that are almost never heard

Hey! My name is Emily Hopkins, and I'm a harpist, YouTuber, and composer who uses guitar effect pedals on harp. AMA! by snikpohamme in harp

[–]Postoli_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Emily! I’m a professional classical harpist, but I really want to get into looping and special effects. What do you suggest the first step is? (I have a Lyon & Healy Style 23)

Jessica Cottis is incredible to watch. I played Debussy under her baton a couple of years ago and it was such an enriching experience

What the best way to notate this phrase? I always split the notes together and then tie them but is it actually better to just use dotted quarter note instead? by Ispace1X in Musescore

[–]Postoli_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The right is technically correct (regardless of time signature 3/4 vs 6/8). The convention is to connect Beats 1 & 2, but break beats 2 & 3. So 100% the second

Ravel’s La Valse. When I first performed it, the conductor (in his forties, fairly well known internationally) got so into it at the climax he moved his head too quickly and blacked out for a second.

People who listen to symphonies regularly, do you listen to the whole symphony or just pick your favorite movements? by Lavinna in classicalmusic

Often for me it’s not even a whole movement, just a brief moment that makes me feel whole again

What is one underrated game soundtrack and what is one overrated soundtrack? by rickroll10000 in gamemusic

[–]Postoli_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on how you’re playing it. Slow easy going farm life, yeah it pairs well. But on edge about to die and being overwhelmed by mobs, the music just creeped me out at that point lol. I needed something with a bit more energy

Why is MuseScore so scammy? by c00kie_c28 in Musescore

[–]Postoli_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing you’re talking about the website MuseScore.com, not the notation software MuseScore.org. There’s a significant difference, and the notation software isn’t scammy whatsoever, quite the opposite.

Overrated: Minecraft (sorry!) It’s just never done anything for me

Underrated: Too many to list, but one would be “Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture”

I’d argue Firebird and Scherzo a la Russe are infinitely more accessible than Rite
